Hi Jon.
I don't have a sore throat, but this past week I've gotten a whole bunch of canker sores and mouth irritations. :( Hopefully they will be temporary. I think it's all part of the healing process.
Something about the mouth and throat being more tender as they adjust to not having that damaging smoke coming at them constantly.
My gums are sore too, but I've also been flossing more lately - trying to take better care of my teeth not that I quit.
If your sore throat persists, though, you should see your doc to make sure it's not a virus or strep. Hang in there!

Hi
Yes, no sooner do we stop than we experience all sorts of weird symptoms. I had the lot - sore throat and mouth, mouth ulcers, spots, bleeding gums - lovely!! It's our bodies way of getting rid of all the toxins and thankfully they don't seem to last long.
Good luck with your quit!

Thnaks guys, just an update, its gone. Im now at the point where things smell and taste better. Thanks for the support. Oh and if anyone else is feeling this there's a tea I swear by called "Throat Coat" tea. All the opera singers used to drink it when they got sick back in my college days. (No i didnt sing opera I'm a bassist)

Yep, I've had a horrible sore throat but, at least in my case, it due to so many things pollinating this spring. That and the temps keep going up and down so drastically.
Hope you feel better.
Stay Strong,
Tutti

jon,
You will find that you may have some symptoms when quitting. These are normal and will pass. Always remember to contact your doctor if they last longer than expected :)

Yeah, I got sore throat, sores in the mouth etc. but was also sneezing. Went to doctor and she said she didn't know (!) but maybe it was an allergy so I'm taking some non-drowsy antihistamines. Seems to be so common among people on this site it's more than a cooincidence.

Said in the Bill Clinton voice " I feel your pain"
Honestly, what we're all going through is nothing compared to cancer, having to get sections of your mouth, throat removed ect...
