Yahoo - 14 days - congrats - on keeping the quit - it will get easier the longer you say no and don't give in.  The nicotine is out of your system, be careful and don't let the nicodemon sneak up on you - kick ash.

Hi Mamma D,

Congratulations on making it through heck week! Way to go! There are definitely many ups and downs in the first few weeks of your quit but keep in mind that with time and effort they will become less frequent. It sounds like you are well aware of when you will be most tempted. Work through milestone 4 to find lots of suggestions on ways to overcome temptation. Keep a running list of coping ideas and have it ready to go. Stay strong and post often!

Members, how did you get through tempting moments? What coping mechanisms were most helpful to you?

These past 2 weeks have been really tough with tons of ups and downs and feeling tired and mad with the world BUT I SURVIVED.  Nothing feels beter than this.  My biggest temptation is when nobody is around and I know where to find cigs  (my partner still smokes).  In the past I have just sneaked smokes and went somewhere else to smoke it.  When I'm alone or bored I tend to think about it allot.  I cannot hide from myself so that so far is keeping me from sneaking one.  I really want to keep this quit.  I have tried so many times in the past only to cave in for some rediculous reason.  I keep in mind NOPE which really helps.  The first 2 weeks are the most difficult and I know that I am no longer addicted to nicotine.  The rest is a head game from here on out.  Staying here and posting and reading keeps my sanity.  Thanks for all the help.
