Hey Munch!!!

Welcome to the SSC and huge congrats on your 73 smoke-free days!!!  Bravo!    Keep on taking it one day at a time and that day WILL come when you won't even thinking about smoking!

Browse through the threads here and you will find info on alternate rewards!  There is one about low cost or no cost rewards that has been really helpful to many members here!  Do a search on it if you can't find it by browsing!  You may also want to go through the Program and Tools in the above pull down menu boxes.  There is a lot of great info there that may be helpful to you on journey towards freedom!  We are all rooting for you!

Sparky - I too am determined to lose these extra pounds.  I don't want to buy new pants!  I have started walking and trying not to 'reward' myself with sweet treats that I wouldn't have eaten before...  I've been eating a LOT of sunflower seeds...  I'm going to start drinking more water and less beer...              I'm still waiting for that day to come when I don't even think about smoking...  What is really important is to stick with it!   NEVER ANOTHER PUFF!!!!

Hi Sparky,

You can achieve whatever you put your mind to!   Living smoke-free is indeed a precious gift to yourself.
No doubt your husband is so proud of you for the positive changes you are making in your life!  You're doing great.

I hear you Sherry .  I refuse to lose this quit to weight gain.  I am not a heavy person, but those extra 6-10 pounds make a huge difference.  But I know what to do and will.

Just a few short months ago when my husband was so ill and I was taking care of him I had people tell me you need to put weight on.  I told them not to worry it would come back LOL.

It has been almost 5 months since he passed and now I am getting to where I can get a little more motivated to a healthier lifestyle. Cookies, ice cream and sweets are not to healthy.

I hear you on the weight thing Sparky.I lost weight before my quit as I knew I would gain and I did gain everything back with my quit.
I liked the weight I had got down to before my quit so I am working hard to get back there.Weight loss is slow after you quit
but remember if you loose it slow it is more likely to stay off.Trying to loose it is another way to keep my mind and body busy , healthy
and no time to smoke.

I knew when I quit I would put weight on.  Many have gained, but protected their quits first and lost the weight later.  I alway lost my quit to "protect" my weight gain.  I have learned so much and I know the weight will go when it goes.   I know as long as I don't smoke, eat healthy and exercise I am giving myself a precious gift.  So life goes on.
