Good Morning Joyful! You're probably in for some craves that rival the first couple days you quit after waking the junky. It's my understanding you can put it back to sleep quicker the second time if you don't smoke another one. The great thing about that is you already know it won't be easy and you also know you can do it. In my opinion your slip was too minor to reset your meter. You can get right back on the quit after a brief discomfort if you don't feed the junky any more. It's different for everyone as you know. Had you quit cold turkey it would be different, but you have been getting nicotine through the patches from the start. One minor slip like this early in your program should not set you back that much. Later while you're on the low dose patches it should be even harder to recover. Stay with us Joyful!! You can do this! Joy, Hellow there, Just read your post, so sorry you are having such a hard time!!!!!!!! I still do at times with the smoking, sometimes it is such a hard journey, and I do have times I get so worn out fighting this addiction, but I can't give up, I just can't, when it hits hardest I go for a walk, or go to sleep or go get my grandaughter, who is just 1 years old, boy can she help to not think of bad things. I can really feel your sorrow and how hard you are working to overcome this, I am sending you much pixie dust many hugs and prayers. I put you in my buddie list on the IM if ever you want to chat. I am here! An hour, a day at a time. It will get better. But for now, take it as it comes and do what you have to do. By the way, Joyful, we share both of those addictions. Thanks doodles, Josie & Sue! I woke up & went back to sleep & I'm up again but only to go back to sleep soon, I think. I'm still having a tough fight with the junkie telling me I need that crutch in my life and that it's not that bad. But truthfully I know that the results of smoking is the expensive & slow way to kill yourself and it's sure not any better than drinking either. So far so good today :) Should I reset my meter? I always told myself that if I slipped I would reset it but I don't wanna lol. Also thanks to everyone who helped me yesterday, I really appreciate all the support u all have given me. Just breathe....... Joy, I hope you can rest tonight, sleep will help. Are you drinking plenty of water? That helped me. Brush your teeth, get some of those listerine strips, that clean feeling really helped me. I keep sour jelly bellies on hand also ;) And Eat Smart makes these white cheddar air popped things and you can have 2 cups for 100 calories, no trans fats :D Do what ever you have to IOW, just don't smoke okay? Remember the pledge. joyful, Keep Strong! We are here for you and your body is trying to tell you something! Relax yourself into sleep and pamper yourself. You had a slip and you are back into the journey, this is commendable :) Use those breathing techniques and focus on you. You can do this, we will be here when you wake :) Josie, Support Specialist

JOYFUL. JOYFUL, JOYFUL So sorry about your slip.. but just keep breathing.. You can do this. Have you read Allan Carr's book? If not you can get a little bit on info on line.. This book has really changed the way I think about smoking.. I am also lucky.. I never go out and I am always at home with one of my three childern and or their friends.. Not easy to slip in front of them. Good luck My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/30/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 100 Amount Saved: $15.00 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 14 Mins: 40 Seconds: 40

Hi all, as some of u already know I smoked a cig about 3am then came home and put my patch back on. Well today after I woke up I was feeling a little more postive but now I'm very depressed again and my mouth litterally feels like it's watering for another cig. What a terrible addiction this is :( I sure wish that last yr. I'd never started up again cuz I'd have over 2yrs now & not be going through this. Anyhow, I called my friend Ms. Lady and have been reading in here and now I'm going to sleep. If needed I will call Ladybugg tonight before I give in. Tonight I switch to the 3rd and last step of the patch, scary. I'm really tired... Just breathe.......
