Etiquette and Asserting Oneself - "Finger- Lickin´" Bad

Our neighbour has crossed the line.

Because they used a bird feeder improperly, pigeons have been roosting on their(and our window sills).  We stopped them by purchasing pigeon diverters(plastik spikes).  Our cheap neighbours, who have homes in the Aegean, where they vacation during the summer(except for this one), won't spend the money.

They've tried to use sticks(which have fallen 3 stories), sprayed water(came through our window screen and pooled so I had to sponge it up).

Their last antic is putting putting one of those silly large garden ornament-toads on their 3rd storey window.

What pigeon would be afraid of a toad?

I'm disappointed with myself since their son-in-law visited yesterday, and I wanted to talk to him about it, and I don't have their phone number, but have meaning to get it.  This is such a nuisance, since I have so many things to deal with - caregiving for my parent, an old house that needs attention, my own health and (disappearing) social life...

Hi Ashley,
I just have kept, as much as possible, the similar routine I had before, when mom was home.  So I eat the similar casseroles.  I'm eating okay.  I've kept that so it's easier when she comes home, and that transition is easy too.

I went to the gym, and see the chiropractor for  a fall, as I recover, as minor as it was.  I  see someone weekly for support, and have my "to do" list completed, almost to it's entirety, daily.

It's actually hard to see anything I'd like to do as attractive, as if there's a barrier to "taking things in".  Yesterday I wanted to walk down to a city festival, but I just shortened my walk, and took the public transit back.

Hi Ashley,
I think the neighbours are "out of reach".  He was painting while it was raining.

I wish I could focus on more important things, since my old car insurance policy might penalize me, according to the contract.  I found a better policy, after shopping around, and with my mom's hospitalization, I was focusing on her settling into the hospital.

The bank was helpful, so maybe it won't be so bad, since a stop payment could help me.

I'm supposed to be helping my mom, and am wrapped up in petty things, and concerned, while I miss deadlines, and am distracted by silly things.

I was told that maybe I'm trying to focus on fixing little things to overcompensate for my "lack of control".  I can barely grasp this thought, but am seeing symptoms of thinking which isn't "efficient"

Today our neighbour from hell decided, before two days of forcasted rain, and in unimaginable humidity, to paint his outside deck, which is built flush against our fence, where our garden of flowers is.

The rain will wash into our garden and kill off the flowers, explaining why we have fewer flowers.

There are only so many things I can control, and stupidity is one of the things I don't have time for.

With my parent in hospital, my nosy neighbours have about her whereabouts.  I'm annoyed that they didn't act upon previous situations, like a break in(years ago), when our doors were open, and resent their selfishness.

I suppose I don't wish to interact since I was disappointed with their past behaviour, and it's really none of their business.

How do others deal with personal questions?

Our neighbour wakes early to go to work, and disposes of their trash, with the loud echo of recycling bins in the common hallway  alternately at the latest time possible(11pm) or early(for me!! 645).

This wakes my mom and myself, both needing restorative sleep, from aches pains, fatigue.

Is it unreasonable to ask for a more civil time and method to dispose of trash, withouut sounding like the delinquent racoons we thought they were?

I remember a woman I knew who stated she would never slam, but gently press her car door shut to not be obtrusive....

Hugs,

I am so impressed with you.  The situation remained the same, but you looked at it from a different perspective; that's awesome!  And, I love how you are solving the problem.  You do have a choice to go somewhere else and realize your doctor will understand.  Very insightful.  This is a great reminder to all of us that there are two ways to look at things.

Thanks, Shari

Hi Ashley,
Some labs are in great facilities, but this person is isolated.  She was probably lost in hyperspace with her new wireless device, too.

The other thing is that there are negative aspects to her job which I didn't think of.  Although the lab sample was sealed twice, I can see her becoming squeamish about not wishing to touch any of the samples  without gloves, since illnesses can be transmitted, and she's around people who are constantly bringing body fluids to her, and some of them are ill.

One lab tech I know loved her job and the exciting place, but I'm not sure today's person is a happy camper.

I can ask to go to another lab, since I have choices.  One time she swatted my hand, since I(and the rest of EU nations speak with our hands), when I was laying on my back as she applied electrodes for an heart rate test(ECG/EKG).

Wish i could say enough is enough, but testing for me is infrequent, and I just end up being blindsided.  My doc is appreciative of me as a patient, so he'll understand if I decide to frequent another clinic.

Today I dropped off a lab sample, which was sealed.

The lab tech, who is always rude, asked me what was the name. I dropped the package on her desk.  She then asked me in a condescending manner "What is the name".  I told her my name and address.  Then she demanded I place into her bin.

I'm going to find another lab to go to, since I don't wish to deal with her.

Hi Davit,
Hope your spring is going well, from what Sunny says in her posts...

I'm afraid to check the bylaws, since that deck has been up for 11 years.  It's better to face the truth than not to.  I might save a large amount of time at city hall, since there is a gardening workshop where I'd like to pick up some tips today.  A trellis would be great, but I'd have to respect the same laws on our side of the fence, now that I think of this

I need to do some research before I assert rights which I don't even know I have
