Hello Brian,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Please continue to strive forward and lean on us for support.

Well…I'm am 32.
I have been experiencing symptoms such as yours for a few years now.  it has gorton the worst it has ever been the last few months.
Googling symptoms, obsessing over them, going to the doctors…Im convinced its my heart and have stopped going to the gym and working out…heck, i can't even work at the moment.
I  have had ECG, MRI, blood work, stress test, chest X-ray …they tell me that i am fine heart wise and it is likely anxiety.  I ma now going to my first psychologist today and have been in counciling for a few weeks.
I'm slowly convincing myself its not my heart but now i am onto other ailments and its very much controlling my life…so the point of my story is you are not alone.  If the doctor tells you its fine…it probably is.
However, if you mean chewing tobacco (smokeless) that  is a whole other kettle of worms i won't even open at the moment.
With anxiety, it is so very important to eat right, hydrate and EXERCISE…so something you enjoy and complete the daily learning logs here on this site.
As Forest Gump would say " that's all i have to say about that".

Brian

Skipped heart beats are common but they scare me so I take a beta blocker to stop them. That gave me some comfort.
Having all my finances in order and arrangements for those left behind took off a lot of pressure too. In other words being ready to go helped. I was a forest fire fighter and during a sad period in my life I took on all the dangerous missions because I didn't give a damn. Ive been through 15 operations and temporarily dead on the table once from a ruptured spleen. I've had massive halucinations from infection. I'm claustrophobic too.
I have lost memories (blocked) but no PTSD.
I have hypertension and chronic staph infection, these are real and I have Arthritis. I should not be alive but I am.
St. Jude keeps sending me back probably as an example of what CBT can do for a person. I can't think of any other reason.
Six years or so ago, I was a mess. I've been in the psych ward and meds didn't help.
I'm fine now. I'm 63 now and thinking of starting another relationship. I'm taking antibiotics for infection again and that doesn't bother me. Nothing much bothers me now.

This program is based on CBT. Beware thing on the net that say they are CBT but are only partly so. CBT is simple in fact but complex in process. And it has to be done in the right order.

Hello.  My name is Brian.  I have been suffering from severe health anxiety for about 10-12 yra now.  I am 27 now.  In 5th grade my brother had a congential heart defect and had open heart surgery.  He has never had any problems since and he is perfectly fne.  A few yrs later when i was about 15 i started freaking out w panic attacks and thinking i was having heart attacks.  I starting smoking cigarettes.  I went through numerous heart tests between 15-18.  Everythjng fne.  One cardiologist said mitral valve prolapse.  Mean while i was still active playing sports and working out.  Between 18-20 after i graduated high school and attented college i continued having thoughts of droppong dead.  Mainly from heart issues.  Whether it was high blood pressure arrythmias coronary artery disease i thoight it all.  I finally saw a psychologist,  i have been taking 30mg of lexapro ever since.  It helps certain days.  I now have a career.  Police officer.  I love my job but i have missed so many days because of my health worries.  I have two child ages 4 and 1.  Ive been through a divorce and police shooting.  I never thought twice about that stuff and dont have poat traumatic stress. My qorries have always focuaed on heart problems.  It has gotten tp the point where i have been pretty sedentary over past 2 to 3 years.  I dont knoq what tp do at this point.  It feels hopeless like i know realistic that anyone could die at any moment.  God has a plan for us and i know where.im going when i die.  But this has taken yeara away from my life when i could have been enjoying things.  Oh and btw from 20-27 i have seen multiple cardiologist due to feeling skipped heartbeats.  Sometimes when trying to workout sometimes for no reason.  Ive been giving the all clear but still worry.  I have traded the smoking for smokeless tobacco the past 5 six years.  Thabk you all for reading any help wouod be appreciated. Is there any free cognitive behavior therapy avaialbke.  Poasibly online?
