I know the fear phobia your dealing with very well. Tea is very safe and natural and will never cause you to panic, but your fear of it happening keeps you at odds. It's a slow process and I've been through it many times myself. Even today during lunch I sat quietly in my office and felt panicky (is this a word?) for no other reason then I was eating lunch. It's awful. Just keep in mind that you are fine, and you will be okay. Also keep in mind your are not alone, others know what this is like.
So, I tried the chamomile tea, and the mint made my tongue tingle, which put me in a state of panic. I seriously have a problem ingesting any new things. I calmed myself down pretty quickly, but disappointed that I let the negative thoughts get to me that fast.
I Google everything I take for interactions. I'm so bad, that each month that I fill the same two prescriptions that I've take for several years, I go on drug identifier.com and make sure the pharmacy didn't accidentally give me the wrong pills. It's crazy. I think it stems from a time almost twenty years ago when I took a vitamin with ginseng and for some reason, it made me very anxious. It's an awful phobia to have, because I suffer longer from colds and such simply because u will not take medicines. I know every person reacts different with meds, but I'd love any advice from members on meds that they've tried and that didn't cause the jitters or other uncomfortable side effects.

Hey KellyM. I often try and drinkchamomile tea in the evening before bed and have found that it is very safe and there are no side effects. Tea is naturally calming and healthy for you, although I would recommend caffeine free teas such as Chamomile. Also a warm bath or shower before bed can also be very relaxing if you have time for that as well.
Personally I have trouble taking any medications. It's been very hard because eating or ingesting anything that I think can make me panic is part of my panic disorder. One technique I've found that is helpful is to simply distract myself with anything I enjoy until I feel calm again, so sometime is playing a video game or reading a book or sometimes watching an old TV show. Of course it's harder to do these things when I'm at work as you can imagine.
I take lexapro 20mg daily and a .5 mg Xanax at bedtime for sleep. I absolutely refuse to take any new medicines for fear that they will react badly with my current meds. I have been wanting to try chamomile tea to help me relax in the evening, has anyone used this tea while taking anti anxiety, anti depressants and is it safe?
