Thanks for your reply CherBear. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Sounds like you're very sensitive to antidepressants, but hopefully this will do the trick for you! You sound like such a nice person! Thanks. j.

Julie: I'm so sorry to hear about your husband! My insurance company refuses to pay for the name brand Celexa unless I hire an attorney and file a suit. So my doctor put me on Lexepro from the same family. I was only on 10 mg of Celexa and only on 10 mg of Lexepro but I feel this is a much " heavier" medication. I sleep a lot, my muscles ache ( maybe from sleeping so much) and I have no sex drive whatsoever. I can't even when I want to. I went through a period of tears for awhile being on Lexepro but that has subsided. But I am calm and no longer explode at my family, which was very scary. My original diagnosis was depression, anxiety and intermitant explosive disorder. Unfortunately, it runs in my family from my grandmother to my son.I'm hoping that all the side effects will eventually go away. It took a good year on Celexa for them to. Good luck to you and your husband. I know it's hard on the spouses.

Cherbear: Saw your post from feb. I'm wondering how things are for you now. did you go back on the name brand Celexa? (I see you were on the generic for 2 months.) If you are back on the name brand, how long did it take to start feeling better again? I hope you are feeling better again? My husband took generic for 32 days and crashed. He is back on regular for 16 days now but still not feeling better. Thanx. jo

Get ready to be penalized for not using generic Celexa. Someone's got to pay for the chemist's mistake, right? See my relative post.

Hi Guys, I'm about the same Becky; thanks for asking. I had a bit of a set-back last week after reading that one comment.( I'm sure you know the one I mean )After reading that, I didn't feel as free to communicate how I felt on a daily basis; so I was waiting to have something worth talking about to post. I guess the good news is I had nothing NEW to say. LOL I've been fine.Even the mornings now are ALMOST normal. Any anxiety I feel is because I anticipate a problem, I'm sure.I haven't been able to get the MRI moved up, so I'll still have to wait until June 2 for that - but I'm OK while I'm waiting for now. As I mentioned once before, I was getting ready to start talking about some issues from my past. Well, I've started and it feels good.( I chose another venue where I feel more comfortable "unloading"). I'm glad to hear that there's some help on the horizon for you, Patti. I do remember reading about some link between thyroid malfunction & depression. I just don't remember the details .. no surprize there...I barely remember what I did last week sometimes. LOL Keep us posted. Hugs :) :) Kate14

Hi Girls! (and boys). Well, I'm still here. : ) I went to see a Psychologist last week. I have bi-weekly appts. with her to go through a few things - also seeing a psych in her practice to go over my Rx's. I am still on the generic. I will wait to see the Dr. to find out what she thinks. I feel ok. And have for the last couple of days, but I'm sure I'll come crashing down any day now. How's that for positive thinking? The psych seems to think that this may be hormone/thyroid related. I have been diagnosed with PCOS in the last year, but have not had it treated. (Poly cystic ovarian Syndrome). My hormone levels are OFF and my thyroid isn't working properly. She said that depression is the biggest sign in both the hormone and thyroid problems. So, I have an appt. with my OB/GYN to have those both checked in the next two weeks. That could be a big part of the reason that I suddenly snap for NO reason at all. I do have some anger and depression that relates back to my life, but my life is good now, I should be able to move on. (I'm trying). I'm anxious to see the Dr. to find out what my hormone and thyroid levels are at. WOuldn't that be amazing if we got those in working order and my depression faded. I'm pretty excited! She was really nice and offered some good advice. I will keep seeing her as see-fit. Good thing for insurance!! Hope you're all doing well! Keep me posted - as I love reading what ya'll write. Keeps me on my toes and helps knowing that I'm not the only one out there suffering!! :) Patti [quote] "And if at times, it seems insane, all the tears in searching... . Hey Kate and Patti, Things here are going really good. I'm feeling alot better and alot more like myself. I still have some anxious moments where I get afraid I am going to go insane or I think that the Celexa is going to change me into someone I'm not....which are just ridiculous because I was on Celexa before and it didn't change me :) Its alot easier for me to get up and get going in the morning and get things done at work. Just trying to get rid of this anxiousness.....which I know is probably not the Celexa but the last remnants of this little episode. Anyways, that's about all from me. I'm very eager to hear how you two have been doing...haven't heard from Patti in awhile and you didn't really say how you were doing Kate...so fill me in!! Becky

Stefinfl, I'm glad it's worked so well for you. As you probably know, not all drugs affect people the same way - as this thread clearly shows. Keep well. Kate14

I've taken Celexa mostly for anxiety, for the last 3 years on and off. But, for the last year and a half I've been on it steadily. I don't have insurance and I almost jumped over the counter in the pharmacy to kiss the clerk, when she told my script was only $50, instead of $80+. For anxiety, it's the same exact stuff. I never missed a beat. It is the best still, even in generic. Amen
