Dealia14,
Haven't heard from you in a few days...How are you doing? I went to my GP yesterday and told him about my depression, anxiety, not being able to sleep, etc. Anyways, my blood pressure had started going up, my pulse rate is >100, and I was also having headaches (I haven't had those in a while). He put me on Amitriptyline 25mg to help me sleep and Carbamazepine (generic for Tegretol) 200mg 2xs day for the anxiety. He also did some bloodwork to see if something else might be going on. I took the Amitriptyline last night and was "out" within 30 min. I woke up this morning feeling a little more rested than I have been, which surprised me because my husband left yesterday. I'm still having problems with anxiety, but he said it'll take several days to notice any improvement from the medication.
Today, his office called to say that I have a vitamin B-12 deficiency. It can affect the nervous system, the cardiovascular system and the gastrointestinal system. They suggested that I come in for an injection of B-12 and I will continue them monthly. Didn't know lacking a vitamin could make a person feel so lousy... Just curious, but has your GP ever run any bloodwork like this?
I'll be going to the Psychiatrist tomorrow. I'm hopeful that I'll start feeling better soon.
I've been checking this site everyday to see if you've checked in. Let us know what's going on... Please?
