Hi Furgittit,

Sorry to hear about your back pain - glad to see that you are managing it though. Have you tried taking epsom salt baths? This may help reduce the inflammation and pain also.

Hopefully the little trees grow up to be healthy and beautiful for all your hard work (and pain)!

Enjoy the weather.........albeit from a distance through a window! It's better than snow and ice!

Hey everyone,
I am back, last week was horrible, I planted some trees on the long weekend (little ones) and strained my back but it didn't kick in till Tuesday after the long weekend so I was drugged up and sleeping most of last week.   Went to the doctor for my back and my perioral dermatitis (fun, itchy, painful) and my daughter's allergy induced asthma.
Today, I am at work, suffering with the pain, (owee) but managing (I look funny as well with my red clown lips (that's what it looks like to me, but no one is saying anything).
Other than that everything else seems to be going peachy, sun is shining, grass is turning green, it is a balmy plus 20 (last time I checked) and I am stuck in the office to stare out my window.
That's it for my venting, I am trying to minimize my negative ranting and raving.

Grumbles, I love the name, put a smile on my face.
As for letting them do for themselves, it would be nice, but until they are all over 18 can't really go without feeding them, clothing them etc. because of child welfare.  Hubby, well he is a different story, I have been pushing him to do more for himself and by himself, because I am not his mommy, sometimes this works and sometimes it doesn't.
I am quite a control freak and need to ensure that everything is done in its particular way.  OCD, whatever, that is me, and I have been trying to let it go.  Doing pretty good so far, I haven't washed my floors in over a week.  Don't get me wrong they still have to be swept and vacuumed everyday but not mopped everyday.
Slowly working on it but one day, I will let it all go (probably take me being in a coma) :)))))).
Well have a great weekend everybody, today is my Friday so counting down the minutes till 4:30.

Glad to hear you have some me time even if it wasn't an ideal me time .

I have heard a few of my friends having the same problem as you with loved ones not growing up.  It sounds to me like you are enabling them.  You are not doing them any favours by doing everything for them.  They would appreciate life more and have more confidence if they did things for themselves. One day you just need to stop doing all those things and they will have to learn for themselves.  Obviously with your husband it is a different story but I would suggest if there is a way he can do something himself then you tell him to do it for himself. It may seem mean but in the end you will actually be doing them a favour!

It would be nice if he would go alone, but alas, he wants me there, my daughter wants me there and his friends want me there.  It is as bad as everyone asking when my hubby and I are going to finally get married (get that piece of paper that 50% of couples destroy anyway).  My hubby doesn't get that I don't like to be surrounded by his friends, strange people, camp smoke and booze.  My ideal getaway is being completely and utterly alone, preferably with a bed, a gamecube (with my mario games) and several romance novels, popcorn and chocolate and coke.  Not driving for hours getting a sore back and being his slave getting him this and that ,because he can't walk that far, the ground is too uneven for the wheelchair etc.
My hubby isn't self-sufficient, he seems to be of the opinion that he can't do anything without me (I think he has anxiety issues there that he won't deal with even when I point them out).  Gosh, if I were gone tomorrow, I would think that everyone in my house would fall apart and they wouldn't be able to cope without me.  They can cook, they can clean, they can do for themselves, I have seen it happen, but they absolutely refuse to grow up.
I had some me time, I slept in and went to my doctors on Tuesday and sat in the waiting room for 2.5 hours reading my book.  I would have killed to be sitting outside, having a cigarette, drinking a slurpee and reading my book.  But no ciggy's for me  for 10 months.  So I will settle for sitting in a crowded waiting room reading my book.
Well gotta get back to work, have a good day everyone.

Hey furgitit,

I am sorry to hear about your bad weekend. I agree with Breanne that you should give yourself some you time! Just do something just for yourself as a reward. And hey, what you did not get to will get done eventually! So just forget it for now! Have yourself some me time!

As for the May weekend, could he go alone without you? I mean he is a grown man. I do that with my hubby all the time. If he wants to go somewhere and I don't  I stay home and he goes without me. The reverse is true too.

Anyway, hang in there!

furgittit,

Sounds like you had quite the weekend. Perhaps tonight you should take it easy. Don't think about what you didn't get done on the weekend, as it will of course only stress you out more! and you don't need that right now. Take some time for yourself to rest and heal, both physically and mentally.
Members, what do you think?
In terms of the May long weekend...try to look at the bright side of things  You'll be outside in the sunshine (hopefully) and like you said, you are making your hubby extremely happy (good on ya ).
Hang in there,

Well, here I am, another Monday morning at work, completely exhausted.  I wanted to get yard work, cleaning up the sheds, getting summer equipment ready and hiding winter equipment at the back and grocery shopping done this weekend.  All I managed to get done was the groceries.
My hubby wanted to go to his friends' home on Saturday evening.  He of course badgered me into going, I don't really like going to his friends homes because they are not the cleanest of people, their homes smell, they have campfires and enjoy drinking to excess.  I was hoping to only be gone a couple of hours well 2 turned into 5.5 and with the campfire smoke and all the booze flowing, I had a killer headache by the time we left.  Not my idea of a good time.
Now I am roped into going to the campground on the May long weekend to enjoy a fun filled day of camp smoke, free flowing booze, obnoxious drunks, a terribly long, boring drive, bugs etc. just to keep my hubby happy.  Yay, I could get a million other things done but no, gotta go and suffer the back pain, headaches and sobriety that no-one else there seems to suffer from.
Yes, my hubby knows the "camp" thing is not my forte, and that I only do these things for him, but geez, sometimes, I could be left at home to my own devices or to sleep while he takes the kids (big deal they are all teenagers/adults now).  He never goes to my dad's home and if he does, he sits out in the vehicle and makes me uncomfortable thinking about him sitting out there.
Aargh, just one of those days when I just feel like giving up on the whole lot, sore back, sore joints, sore muscles, headache, pain from head to toe, stressed to the nth degree blah, blah, blah. I missed going to see my doctor on Saturday to go out with Hubby now I have to leave work early today to see my doctor.

Hey Furgitit,

Well, I still find it brave :). Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. As for being tired I sooo hear you! I can sleep a lot too. In fact I do.

Glad your refund was good and I hope you get something again this year! And new shoes sound nice :) Plus, I think people feel happier with comfy feet!

I hope you will have a good day tomorrow. Hang in there!
