Smoking Dreams w/ a Twist!

for 18 år siden 0 218 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Lately I have been getting the usual smoker's dreams where, I am smoking and it feels so real and I think it is real and freak out till i realize it was just a dream. Well this one was weird because a couple days ago I encountered my first smoker since quitting smoking. I thought to myself only 10 % of what he inhales with come out and the rest of the junk stays on his lungs. Well in my dream I was smoking but also telling myself the same thing!!! Than another dream I had I had quit smoking in the dream while i was with my my sister (who smokes) and a former friend of mine (who also smokes) and I bought a pack but than threw it away. It seems as though I am worse in my dreams than in real life with my quit. Neither of these dreams make me crave a cigarette when I wake up the exact opposite. Sometimes i just think about cigarettes and it feels like theres smoke in my lungs and I hate it and am relived I don't smoke. Not smoking has taken a big weight off my back. The psychological part of smoking got me the most. I hated feeling such remorse that I smoked and the fear of getting lung cancer and a whole other stream of health problems terrified me yet i felt helpless. I feel happy and powerful. What helps me is to think I survived the first day of quitting which for me seems the hardest since there are no other non smoking memories really to look back on and say "Hey- life CAN be enjoyable without a cigarette" I often think of my past quit attempt that lasted a month and remeber i still had a great time reardless. Building a smoke free past no matter how recent it is helps me realize that I can quit and be happy and have fun and live a normal fufilling life without cigarettes!! Ang, What a wonderful attitude you have about this whole quit thing! Yes, you WILL develop non-smoking memories that can be just as fun and rewarding, if not more, than the smoking ones. I'm glad the dreams don't make you crave the next day... boy, they sure made me! But everyone is different. Congratulations on 2 weeks! Crave the Quit!
