So first I have come up with this new (to me) at least theory that though our olfactory senses are shot the first few days of quitting, there is one thing we can smell better than anyone. That one thing is cigarette smoke. I challenge anyone to find a bloodhound that can pick out a smoker faster than I can right now. Seriously I can smell a smoker from ten feet away up downwind in my sleep, It makes me think did I used to stink that much? This is why I hope that it's just a quitting smoking thing that makes the smell so strong. Also as my sense of smell has started to get better it's kinda cool smelling things you haven't smelled in a long time. I smelled someone making pizza at work the other day and the smell was so different from my smokers sense of baking pizza I had no idea what it was, I thought it was chocolate cookies!
Next ramble.
I had a dream last night where I smoked. I bet a bunch of you have had one of those. Anyway it was actually a good thing because I've been losing focus on my reasons for quitting recently and all I could think of (in the dream) was I had just wasted a good 10 day quit, so the dream actually helped me keep my focus.
next, this message confuses me:
Since October 27, 2004 our members have had 2,867,515 smoke-free days, have not smoked 10,794,267 cigarettes and have saved $14,012,191.00
14,012,190$ divided by 10,794,267 cigarettes is $1.29 a cigarette. This can't be right, or does the money also come from somewhere else.
Finally, someone once said "anything worth doing, is worth doing right" Someone else once said "if it's easy it's probably not worth doing" Not sure if I agree with the second one, but it sure could have been someone quitting smoking who said it. So to everyone out there thanks for reading my rants and keep up the good work.
