Hi els1963, I think that is great. Have you thought of moving your date just a little closer? I know it seems scary and we fear what we don't know, but if you really want this quit you should jump in with both feet. It's hard at first, but it gets easier and you will LOVE how you feel about yourself and your life. That sounds like you are doing great. I started with cutting back also. I wish now I had just quit though because it just prolongs the waitng and the agaony, but you have to do what is right for you. Keep up the good work. I think that it is an smoke by smoke thing. To partially quit is like being a little pregant. You can do this and you can do it now if you are willing to pay the price. The price is commitment and that is difficult for some folks. Be proud of who you are and pull the trigger. We will help. Remember though, it will be your quit. What do I think...I think you are making one of the major decisions on this earth for yourself. Repairing the damage done by smoking is one of the strange things about quitting. It starts immediately and will repair itself by 1/2 each year until you can practically say you show little or no sign of having ever smoked. If you are under 35 it could be completely erased. OK, I am watching....
