I also believe that anyone, who truely wants to be quit, can be quit!!! Through the worst of times when I know I wanted a cigarette, I also knew that I would not be able to complete the entire smoking process. I might get one out of the pack, I might hold it in my fingers, hell I mightve even fake puffed on it, but I never lit it. I know that was playing with fire but for some odd reason helped me because I knew I wasnt going to lite it, I knew I had that control over the situation. Thats a great feeling for me. I like the fact that I chose not to smoke. I believe that everyone could make that choice if they truely wanted to. Simply don't lite one up again! Chose to remain smokefree and you will. No one can make you smoke but no one can make you quit either!!! Bubba, I agree with most of your post except for one thing. I believe that everyone has the ability to quit the addiction. I believe that everyone, IF THEY WANT TO, can make this journey. They may have to try and try again, but it can be done. Thanks for the good thoughts! Did you know that if a frog had wings he would not bump his butt when he jumps. Yet, I believe that everytime Mother Nature offers up wings for the frog they decline them for no good reason. Same here for nicotine addiction. That junk is so strong it pulls at us and as Melanie mentioned in another thread...fear of failure sets in. It is to hot...no it is to cold...no it is to rainy...no it is to sunny...no it is snowy outside...etc, etc. Give yourselves to the effort completely and a higher power will help you conquer and achieve your goals. Let me tell you about half-baked excuses...that is a term used in sales training to mean that the excuses a salesperson will encounter in his travels are really not the real reason the prospect doesn't (We are just looking, I can't afford it, we'll be back, etc. Same with half-baked excuses here toward why some people has difficulty and road blocks in the quit journey. The solution and formula for success are simple indeed: It is [size=4]PREPARATION![SIZE=2] The equation to those two are just on the right of this screen. I want all who read this to honestly remind yourself if you did the 6 miles journey, read the success stories, studies all the material that is provided, etc. If not, you did not want to really quit. Something has scared you into it and once you get over that fear...the junk man returns with more addiction than before. Kill him...you owe it to yourself and your loved ones. I know people in the smoke pit that will stay in the smoke pit. Why, I'll tell you why - Simply because they haven't the ability to quit nicotine. Are you one of those. Say no, please.
