JanA,
Glad you're back on the quit. First, I think you need to have a talk with whoever gave you that cigarette (and any other smoking friends you know) and tell them no matter how much you beg, they are NOT to give you a cigarette!!!

I could say I am sorry, but sorry won't help me quit...only determination will.

You never have to apologize to us. You're the only one that hurts by your smoking. Just remember that.
Next, I think that whether you reset your meter or not is completely up to you. I don't think it really matters... what matters is that you quit and quit for good. I hope that you have done that.
Next, I want to talk about your coping strategies. Those are things that you will do INSTEAD of smoking when you're stressed, having a bad day or are in a generally bad mood. Up until now, smoking has most likely been your only coping strategy. Now, we have to learn new ones. Have you made a list of things you will do instead of smoking when things get hard? If not, you should. Gum, long walk, deep breaths, exercise, punch a pillow, etc... come up with a list of coping strategies that will work for you and then USE THEM!!! Until you can cope with life without a cigarette, you will be a smoker who is not smoking. When you are finally able to face life without a cigarette is when you finally become an ex-smoker. Are you there yet? I hope so.
Crave the Quit!
Pam
