Thanks everyone for all your support - it means so much to be able to talk to people who "get it"! And Hummybird looks like you are about to hit a year!!!! Way to go - now that is insperation! Cheers! Skidoo

Thanks Cybrduke!!!!! To be honest, I'm having a REALLY hard time today. I just finished lunch and my children are napping and this is the time I would usually smoke. I'm doing my deep breathing and drinking water, but also I'm eating way too much. I know, I should be easy on myself these first few days - I'm trying HONEST! I'm going to continue cruising this site, its keeping my mind occupied. Thanks again for repling, I was beginning to think no one was going to . Hello everyone! Well its the morning of day three of my quit and I woke up today with a craving so strong I almost forgot I had actually quit! I rolled out of bed and my first instinct was to go downstairs pour myself a coffee and head outside to have a smoke! Its now 4 hours later and I'm feeling better - doing my deep breathing, drinking lots of water and praying A LOT! I'm also having a weird side effect... My tongue is very tingly and hot (kind of like it used to be if I smoked way too much in one day) Has anybody else had this?? Should I be worried? PS> I love this site! Have spent the better part of 3 days just reading old posts - lots of insperation here! Morning!!! And a good one at that. Today is day 5 for me but I think that day 3 really has been the hardest so far. I went in for my accupuncter appt. last night and I slept well for the first time this week, well with a little help and some triptaphan (you know that stuff that is in turkey) Good luck and god bless! Hi Skidoo1967, Hope things are easing up a little in the crave department for you. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. It help rid your body of toxins (for me it helped me not to eat even more!) Deep, relaxing breathing is what I use to get through cravings and walking (the faster I walk the more I'm cravin) but they get less and less as time goes on. I did not have the sensation you did with your "tingly feeling" on the tongue. I did have a metallic mouth watering sensation at the times I usually smoked in the afternoon. I am one of the lucky people who can drink coffee and enjoy it sitting outside on the porch or inside (usually hooked up to this site) and don't crave. Everyone is different. DO whatever works for you, Just Don't Smoke. You're Doing Terrific! You will feel SO good REAL soon, hang onto that for this week!!!!! Don't forget to post often! BUMP - Hey Skidoo, how are you doing? I ate a lot when I first started my quit. I gained about 12 pounds actually. I've lost about 4 of them now and I seem to be heading back toward my pre-quit weight again. The snacking leveled off for me after about a month. My doctor told me not to worry about the weight gain at all. It was worse to smoke than to carry the few extra pounds. Keep up the good work - you can and will do this. It is very possible. Stay close to the board, we will support you any way possible. N.O.P.E. = Not one puff ever. When you get a craving, just think NOPE! Stay strong. Be proud. Hi Skidoo, Wendy(3galeh) loves to skidoo! Don't worry about what you eat too much this week. If it wasn't nailed down, I ate it. You can worry about the eating later - right now, just protect your quit. I haven't had the tingly tongue problem, but someone will probably come on to talk about that, too. Might be that you're chewing too much gum or something. Third day is the hardest for MANY. Hang on - day 7, you'll be glad you did. Not cravin', never cavin'. skidoo, You will be feeling lots of symptoms throughout this week. What you are experiencing is normal and will pass. If it stays longer than expected than you need to contact your doctor to rule out anything medical. Keep distracted and know that you can do this. We are always here. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
