Sometimes we have to do some things that we don't want to do in order to change or grow. It's called stepping out of your comfort zone. Things we used to do as smokers, we have to get used to as non-smokers. The trouble is, we get set in our ways and don't like change. Changing or stepping out of your comfort zone means you have to get uncomfortable doesn't it?
I have found that the difference between a successful person and others is that successful people are willing to step out of their comfort zone and do the things that others won't do. I know quitting smoking is not easy but so many others have done it and you can too.
Here's a little poem I found that I thought you might like. It pertains to live in general but can be tailored to quitting smoking too. It's about.....
The Comfort Zone:
I used to have a Comfort Zone
Where I knew I couldnt fail
The same four walls of busy work
Were really more like jail.
I longed so much to do the things
Id never done before,
But I stayed inside my Comfort Zone
And paced the same old floor.
I said it didnt matter,
That I wasnt doing much
I said I didnt care for things
Like diamonds, furs and such.
I claimed to be so busy
With the things inside my zone,
But deep inside I longed for
Something special of my own.
I couldnt let my life go by,
Just watching others win.
I held my breath and stepped outside
And let the change begin.
I took a step and with new strength
Id never felt before,
I kissed my Comfort Zone "goodbye"
And closed and locked the door.
If you are in a Comfort Zone,
Afraid to venture out,
Remember that all winners were
At one time filled with doubt.
A step or two and words of praise,
Can make your dreams come true.
Greet your future with a smile,
Success is there for you!
