ang, Wow you are one of few who has had no problems quitting. How do you do this? Can you share with the members on your success and what you do to fight the crave?? Thank you, Melanie ___________________ The SSC Support Team

ang- you are wize for your years. I agree with your theory that numbers don't mean as much as attitude. Continue to be a role model!

Hi Ang, I have to agree with you - today is absolutely beautiful outside!!! I need to get off my a$$ and get my kids outside!!! I'm not really good at that though. I've become this home body lately. I will have to force myself though. We have a park 1 block away from my house. How bad is that?? Oh, sorry. I just babbled on your post. Congrats on your 80 days!! It sounds like you are doing very well!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,394 Amount Saved: $150.42 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 45 Seconds: 17

The best part of making it this far is knowing I bypassed my other attempts by far when I thought I would never be able to do that! Knowing that it's possible is the best motivator for me, that I can continue to make it even further. But also knowing you know? Im already quit anyone who has quit no matter how little days theyve stopped, you are already a non smoker. The milestones ect are just a bonus and an excuse to treat myself really. I try not to take the numbers so seriously because you know a new quitter could be doing better than a quitter who has been quit for 6 months or so just because of one little thing: atittiude and positive thoughts towards your quit. Some ex smokers are like "Id kill for a cigarette but no i cantbecause its not good for" because the doctor says so or my husband or my parents. Your inner voice has to be the strongest and most important one of all. Or else you may quit smoking but be miserable in the process. When your miserable you arent proud of yourself you are mad at yourself and jelous of everyone else that smokes. Quitting smoking this time also became very natural for me this time. In some ways its hard for me to even explain in words why. I mean I am 18 years old still young why would I want to stop now right? How many teenagers stop smoking now? I am not in a perfect place with my parents divorcing and me selling my house and moving and starting a new job. I still have my drinking habits to work on, I am not completely perfect and the world around me is not completely perfect. I dont think it ever will be for me especially at this time and that it will ever be completely perfect for anyone. But you have to take control of the things that you can change and stop focusing on the things you cant. We use smoking to deal with the things we cant change. We thing life sucks I might as well smoke and make things worse because itll never be any better. But imagine how much better an hour of walking or writting or reading would do for you than an hour of idle smoking. haha sorry i babbled. take care!!
