Lung Connection ?

for 19 år siden 0 5 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi All, Every morning now my lungs still contain phlegm that has built up during the night ( just no nice way to say this) and my doctor tells me there is nothing wrong with me. There is still some pressure in my chest at times and some minor shortness of breath but not real pain like the kind that lead me to quit smoking. There is no infection. During the first three months of my quit I worked in a very closed area with a chain smoker. I was not tempted to smoke but I did have trouble getting fresh air. I am retired now and spend time walking, about a mile and a half average daily. My question is, will this phlegm and pressure ever end, anyone else have this ? Bottom line : I am glad I quit and do breath better than when I was smoking. drjan, I did have the ekg and my heart is just fine. The chest pain is no longer a problem, that stopped about three days after my quit. The more I walk and the more fresh air I get ,well my breathing is good. It's just that in the mornings I still caugh up material. I will check out the Brown Crud thread. Thanks all. No matter what, this is better than smoking. drjan yes that's it ! I only read the first post so but that's exactly what happens every d*#@ morning. The crud "settles" during my sleep and by the morning I'm pretty clogged up. The gag reflex kicks in while I brush and floss (I help this)and... I'm clear for another day. Thanks for the post location. Webster: Glad to help. Thought you might find that thread useful. Morning crud does go away but how long it takes varies a lot from person to person. Hi Webster: Take a look at the Brown Crud thread ( record number of views )as you might not feel so alone. I am not an MD and am not offering medical advice but chest pain and shortness of breathe can indicate cardio problems. Please talk with your doctor about stress tests or other cardio diagnostics. Congratulations on quitting!
