Hi all, I'm back...at least for the weekend. Then it's back to the road again. To all the ash kickers, I'm sorry I was not able to check in for role call, as I promised, but when duty calls.....
I just wanted to share my experience with all of those who are suffering any cravings. Somewhere around my 7th day of quit, I went to hang out with my cousin and her mother who are both smokers. I went outside whenever they would smoke, but at some point we started a spades game and so I had little choice but to take in the smoke.
I found it very interesting however, how I reacted to it. My head started swimming, my sinuses became irritated and I received a headache. These symptoms combined made me feel terrible. But I felt good afterwards, because it just persuaded me further to keep my quit because I didn't want to experience that feeling again.
But what was really interested, was that I began to realize just how much my life had depended on cigarettes. I smoked more than my cousin or her mom, and yet when I went to visit them I kept noticing how soon they would pick up another cig. I kept saying, "wow, didn't you just have a smoke about 15-20 minutes ago?" They would just laugh and say, "yeah. maybe now you know how much you used to smoke."
The thing is, I can't believe I was actually sucking up cigs that strong so much and at such rapid pace. I was actually about to start searching for an even stronger cigarette brand!!!! When I returned to the road, I also noticed how many people actually depended on cigs to cope in life. I kept watching how people would have to have a smoke before they did anything. I keep saying, wow that used to be me. So sad.
Anyway maybe this can and will be of some solace to you all who are still having strong cravings and/or desires for cigs. My best to you all out there.
Support URself and others will support U.... ;-D
