OFF NICOTEEN FOR GOOD.

for 18 år siden 0 96 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
First off, I want to appologize for not responding to others posts. i do not feel strong enough or wise enough. "yet" Well, as of yesterday,I am off the nicoteen. Now if only the nicodemon will get off of me. Living in a small town in Newfoundland,Canada, there is only 2 druggstores and can you believe it...both of them were out of step 3 patches. I am glad though, Now I caqn really move on with my quit. I am craving like a @#^#@@ though. This too shall pass right? At least I was able to sleep last night (i've been having many restless nights lately). I don't think putting nicoteen in our system during the night is really wise. I mean no one smokes during sleep. Anyhow sorry for the ramble. FAKIN IT TIL I MAKE IT. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 35 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 882 Amount Saved: $393.75 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 2 Mins: 39 Seconds: 37

Well...I made it thru the day. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. I am feeling so pleased about getting off the patches. I've been keeping really busy ( my house is spotless). Also went and got a haircut out of the money I saved from buying the patches. I am beginning to get an attitude with my husband though(he still smokes). Hi redrosie, glad to hear you're from my neck of the woods. When I stepped down,I used step 2 for a week and then I had 1 step 3 patch from way back. When I couldn't get anymore I left my step 3 patch on for 2 days. This seamed to help. Maybe there was still a small amount of nicoteen left in it. Anyway,I'll be here when you step down. Only you can know when you are ready. Bye for now..... FAKIN IT TIL I MAKE IT. cincere - i feel for you right now! I chose to run nekkid earlier than I should have (was only on step 2 at the time). the next 72 hrs may feel like the first week all over again. just be as prepared for the cravings as you possibly can......they will come, but trust me, they will pass. i have been almost two weeks w/out nicotene and am sleeping much better now, and the cravings are manageable (back to where they were) good luck! stay strong! Hey There Cincere, I literally groaned outloud for you when I read you were out of your patches. That must have been hard, to have no choice about when you stop using them. I am on step 2 for another week, then step 3 for 2 weeks, then I will be nekkid. I am nervous about not using patches. Let me know how long these horrible cravings last for you. BY the by, we are neighbors. I live across the pond on the mainland in a small town about 50 kms from Halifax. You keep Fakin' It and Makin' It! I too have a spotless house. Even the poor pets all got bathed. I don't think I have anything left to clean or organize. I may have to start on the neighbors' house.lol. Actually, I do know when my last day on the patch will be. I am on a plan my doc. put me on, so I only have 1 wk of 14mg left and then 2 wks of 7mg and then I go nekkid. I am sure I will be ranting a little more on this site when that day comes. Cincere...Yes...this too will pass. I quit cold turkey so I really can't advise you on the patch. I don't know much about them except what I've read here. I'm sure others will be along soon that can help you with this. I just wanted to say that you are doing GREAT! 35 days and still going strong. We are all here to help eachother. When you are ready to respond to other posts, then that is when you should. No need to apologize. Keep up the great Quit! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 222 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,446 Amount Saved: $777 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 14 Mins: 14 Seconds: 58

Cincere, Congrats on 35 days! It will pass and everyone's quit is different. Protect your quit and you will fair well. Use your coping mechanisms, they will help. Try and use relaxation techniques such as, hot bath, warm drink or a good book before bed. This will help relax you and give you a better sleep :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
