That is really nice of you all to say such kind things about my general ramblings!
Thank you!
For Penguin - I do want you to know that my intent was NOT to try and pressure you back into quitting. It really wasn't.
If you are ready, then please do. And know that myself and all the others are RIGHT HERE to surround you with the Good Stuff (tm) and help you across that highway.
We are heading out again on another trip across now. Come with! I can't say for sure, but I've heard there will be Ice Cream waiting for us on the other side!

Alright Zany!!!
Wooooo Hooooo!
I'm so happy that you've taken that first step.
It really is scary, aint it? :)
However, now the hardest part is done. Now it's just a matter of staying focused.
If you haven't yet - look to the left side of the screen and go through the tools there. Really. Seriously. Go do it now. They honestly are very helpful.
Then just hold on tight! Realize the worst of it is the first couple days. What everyone refers to as 'Hell Week'.
Though to be honest, if you genuinely BELIEVE, I really don't think Hell Week is that tough.
It's just a matter of dealing with those random, reflexive "Hey you haven't smoked in a while!" moments and being able to reply to them with 'Oh screw that. I'm not smoking! I don't wanna have to take that first step again!!'.
Stay with us! And revel in being free!

Bingo,
Thank you. I cried. What a wonderful post...and you just keep on writing those manifestos! I loved the highway analogy...so true.
Penguin,
First, I'm glad that you are not going to change your name! You will always be Penguin to us no matter what tuxedo you wear!
Second, welcome back!!!! I promise to be here for you. I promise to hold your hand and walk with you from one side of the highway to the other. I know you can do this. I feel it and believe it with all my heart. Hang tuff... and grab as many hands as you need to walk the walk!

I just have to say thank you and thank God for you. I came to this room looking to chat about a none smoking topic. Me and my wife are having a really tough time and may be headed for the D word.
She has always wanted me to quit, and I have once for 2 years another for a year. Your post however, just gave me what I need to do this again. Many of the post are right, 15 days and you sound like an old veteran at this stuff.
I just wanted to say thank you. I have one death stick left...(did not have time before work to stop and buy more... and I am glad.) It will be the one I say good bye to an old friend and hello to a new life.
Thanks for your words again!

Come on Judy... You can do it!!!
My prayers are with you, hang in there girl.
Welcome back,
Ron
