Well, I survived my first day smoke free

And it was okay. This may sound funny but tonight I felt like I could already breathe batter! Maybe its just my mind playing with me but who cares, It feels better. I had a very rough morning but once I got to afternoon and evening it wasn't so bad. I figured my evenings would be worse but turns out not for today anyway. I am using the gum but am trying to only use it when the urge gets bad. I kind of feel like I am defeating the purpose by using the gum but I want to be able to do this and that is what I feel is going to help me. I feel like a non smoker. When I am talking about it I refer to myself as a non smoker, I think that is a first. Don't get me wrong, I have been fantisizing about having a smoke all day...I hope that is normal, I think it is. I still am mourning the relationship we had, even though it was a disfunctional one! LOL! I know I have a long journey but all in all today was okay. Here is to the rest of my days being smoke free.

I don't think you're crazy. My lungs felt better on day 2. yesterday I ran around the block (ok, so I ran/walked/ran walked) because I couldn't believe the difference in my lungs. I think they say your chances of a heart attack go down by 40% after the first few days. That must be why. Yeah Us!!!!!

Hi KahneKrazy You are doing great and you have a great positive attitude. I'm so glad that you are feeling great this evening. In these next few weeks just keep coming and post and answering post as you are and it will help in so many ways. Don't worry about using the gum, use what ever you have to these first few weeks. Somedays will be great and some not so good. No matter what you will find great support here. Just make sure to have your resources near by to help you get through the rough times. And very important is to drink LOTS AND LOTS of WATER. As you will hear a lot this helps the toxins to get out of your system. It does work!!! Mornings were my worse at first because I'd get up grab my coffee and go for a smoke. Then I'd wake up.
