Rd Man The Quit and all the Stories

A twist to the walks as the doggie has gone.
There is little that could make that better.

Remembering my dreams and being able to stretch and move as I get up in the morning is great benefit (no fits of coughing).

The best is breathing and being able to have my freedom to breath no matter how active I am! Still swimming and going farther and farther!

Peace

It could never be so bad that I would pick up a cigarette ever again!

Time to go for a swim and perhaps a walk and then off to work and then another walk and simply move past the destructive and unhealthy thoughts!

I know that as soon as I am near the smell of smoke that my body will tense and I will know that that is exactly what I DO NOT Want!

A nice piece of 80% chocolate is what I do want and that will actually sooth me. There I go ... a very nice walking companion that lovely piece of very dark chocolate!

Cheers
Have a great day

Karen
Thanks for asking.

The best coping mechanisms for  for me were:

Focusing, constantly focusing on my goal (Health and Breath).

Swimming, it is really hard to smoke in 12 feet of water.

Rewards, going to Venice at one year was awesome.

Knowledge, getting as much knowledge as I could

Succeeding and celebrating every success along the way, no matter whether tiny or huge. Each success was and still is cause for celebration. In fact for me I spent so much time celebrating it took my focus from the struggle.

Finally HOPE! Hope played a huge part in every day. Seeking hope to find a new way. Seeking hope to find courage to go on. Seeking hope to know that I could create and maintain the sustained  change I wanted. Hope that I could find a new life.

Looking forward to a new year...
Happy snow day! Happy every day! Happy holidays!
Cheers...Peace
Phillip

I just got back from swimming...2000 meters ... freestyle!

Who would have thought that was possible even a year ago never mind two years ago, three years ago or even more. There are days when I surprise myself and days when I simply know how lucky I am to have escaped without being tainted by 36 years of addiction to tobacco.

I am constantly amazed at how the body, my body, mends and heals and the power of life and the life force of the human body!

What a great day it has been.

Ciao
Be Well
Peace OUT
