Hi Everybody, Thanks for your responses. 3galeh!, I'm a fellow Canuck, but I live in Nova Scotia. You pretty well can't smoke anywhere here. I swear soon you won't even be able to smoke in your car. Golferman, I bet it is nice to actually be able smell your Right Guard now! Kaiser, you are a sick puppy! lol. As long as you only smell and don't touch, I say sniff away. I like the smell of gas myself so WOOF,WOOF. I'm a sick puppy too. Your welcome for the cake, it's diet ya know! Josie, Thanks for your kind words. You make me sound samart or sumptin! Lady, Thanks and you're right I do deserve a smoke-free life. I think it took me a long time to give myself permission to be a non-smoker. So much of who I was and what I did revolved around Ol' Stinky Stick. Yeah!!!! Not any more!!!! Butterfly, You're right, I do have a 2 month old right now and boy does it ever smell nice! Not at all like smoke!! Yippee!!!! lol@redrosie~I knew it! -- Chris, yes it is true. Katy says it goes back to normal over time. Mostly it is taste and smell (However, I can show you evidence on this forum that "after quitting smoking" I even began to "hear" pins drop.) It happens mostly after Mc says something shocking. :p ~all the best 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 199 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,398 Amount Saved: $995 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 23 Mins: 23 Seconds: 43

redrosie... I can now smell the smoke a mile away and it makes my stomache turn. When my dad gets in the car, I quickly roll down all the windows as well. You mentioned "babying your quit" well sweetie, I still don't like to go around smokers. At first it was because I was afraid of the temptation and now it's just because I don't want to smell it. It stinks. I just love the life changes that this quit is bringing to me. Congrats on your attitude. Your reaction to the situation shows how much you are growing in your quit. Have a great smoke free life. You deserve it. Redrosie, COngratulations on making it through that situation! I have a co-worker who smokes, but I've never SEEN her smoke, she's never told me that she smokes, but boy do I know that she smokes!!! It's amazing we got hooked so long ago... given that it stinks so bad, I just don't understand why I started!?!?! Oh well. Congratulations on making it through. And like everyone else said, don't worry about babying your quit too much... it IS your baby... you have a 2 month old right now, so don't worry about babying it too much... I don't think that's possible. Crave the Quit! redrosie, Good job on not letting that smoke get to you in terms of a crave. It's pretty nasty, isn't it? My golfing buddy, Tom, a hardcore smoker, rode in my truck this weekend. No, I don't let him smoke in my truck, but when he got in I was immediately rolling down the windows! All 4 of them! Stinko!!! No wonder smokers hang out with smokers and non smokers hang with non smokers. I honestly don't know how people in mixed relationships (one smoker, one non smoker) exist. Forget the actual smell of the smoke, the stench left on the smoker is enough to gag a maggot! And all those years I thought my Right Guard was letting me down.. ;p Be Strong. Hi redrosie, good for you for protecting your quit so carefully. I don't think we can protect it too much, its important to think of us when we quit. I wasn't around smokers much at all and I still am not. I am lucky to have so many friends and family that do not smoke. I notice the smell allot more now too, I feel bad for what I must have smelled like, although a lady I work for said she never smelled it on me and she has never smoked herself. Do you live in Ontario by chance? I do and the law is very strict here about not smoking in public places.
