Sally - Thank you for sharing this. Lately I have been feeling overwhelmed and that little voice says "Go ahead - have one". I know that I am becoming a woman of strength, one who can face adversity with the wisdom of a non-smoker, knowing that I can face those challenges without a cigarette in my hand. It's so hard sometimes. I find that it's the hardest when I am the most tired...and I am exhausted right now. Way to much going on. Thank you for reminding me of what I already know...we are a part of a family of non-smokers here. Thank you for helping me. You have a great weekend as well. Healthy2, Thank you so much for posting tonight, and congratulations on your 101 day. That is fantastic, I hope that you rewarded yourself, that is important. We all face difficulty in our life and you are so right a cigarette is not going to change the matter. It will only make you feel worse. I'm sorry for all of your difficulties, may God hold you in the palm of his hand and protect you. I pray that your daughter is doing well. Stay strong and keep on fighting for you quit. The challenges will always be there but we just have to conquer them. I think that you have done a wonderful job doing that. Stay close to the site and read and post. Oh, by the way you have made it to the beach. So come on over and have some fun...We will be looking for you.. what do these last 101 days symbolize? strength... knowing that I alone have the power to keep this quit. Realizing that in my life hardships will exist and I have the strength to tackle them without smoking. One thing that I have always taken from this site is this... that whatever difficulty I will face in life; it will still be there after the cigarette. During these last 101 days my daughter was in a car accident and diagnosed with epilepsy. My husband and I have had a strained relationship. My kindergarteners have been ...well typical 5 year olds :). Realizing that I am now 52 and life for me has changed and will continue to do so. ok..so much has happened. Tonight was the first night in these last few months where I felt overwhelmed with life. I briefly thought about walking to the little store down the street. And then I remembered what I have learned from being a part of the stop smoking center family. That the challenges in life will be there after I put out the cigarette. So instead I went for a walk and worked out a lot in my mind. I feel better and I feel so much better at not having a cigarette. Have a great weekend all and may life's challenges not overwhelm you..may God give you the strength to face them without smoking. bye for now, sally My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 101 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,039 Amount Saved: $404 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 21 Mins: 38 Seconds: 22

Sally, I'm so proud of you. When my mom got sick and died I used it as an excuse to start smoking again. Then I was sad and smoking AND had to go through hell week again!!! All having a cigarette will do is make you a depressed smoker. You are amazing to have come to that conclusion. Finally you are that incredible kind of human who can teach kindergarden!!! I'm a grade 7 teacher and I'm always in awe of those who teach kindergarden!! Stay strong, you can teach 5 year olds you can do ANYTHING!
