Junkie Thoughts Creeping In.....

I'm in the same boat. I hate it so much, but it's part of hte game. It's one of the consequences for having started smoking at all. Just see it as something you have to tolerate to get to a better place :) Hope you keep it up! N.O.P.E!

Ugh! having some junkie thoughts about smoking creeping in to my mind. Things with my parents divorce isnt going well and I feel like my dad is continuly letting my whole family down. I feel especially sensitive towards him. :-( I have thoughts but I cant say i will act on them the main reason being that I have no access to getting any and because Ive gotten so far. I need some good words and advice so when I do come into a situation where i feel really low and have access to buying smokes I can repeat some mantras and advice in my head. This is important for me because i feel as though this divorce thing I am in the middle of I am feeling very hopeless in it all. I wish i could do something and Im trying really hard to hold everything up at home but it never seems like enough. Thanks Guys. I am ashamed to say that I am not feling completely confident in my quit. Even when i talk to ppl about my quit iI say smokings bad all this stuff about why but I wish id just shut up b/c im scared ill eat my words if I mess up. :-( My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 285 Amount Saved: $448 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 13 Mins: 7 Seconds: 34

Ang you are doing fine. Take some deep breaths here. You are not going to give up those hard earned quit days because you know that smoking is never going to make anything better. Smoking kills. As far as your parents divorce, I know it is difficult for you but you are going to have to leave that situation alone. You didn't cause them to get married and there is nothing you can do to cause them to stay together or to seperate. Those are decisions they will come to on their own that have nothing to do with you. Yes it is painful for all involved. Even divorce in the worst situations is difficult but it is one of those things that you just have to accept the fact that you have no control over. What you do have control over is your quit and you are handling that perfectly. Some days, situations and stresses kick off the junkie in all of us. What is important is that you don't act on it. You know it will pass so just hang in there. Ang, Shove those thoughts to the curb! 56 days is a great accomplishment and you want to keep this. When your feeling low have a list of happy things and pick and choose from it. Take some you time and really relax yourself :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
