Hello hello hello. I have to say that you are all very good at rewarding yourselves - and so you should be! Your stats are all amazing! I love the idea of a daily reward, think I will go out and buy myself some funky new teas to try every morning! (I gave up coffee with my quit)! Phillip, your trip to Venice sounds incredible! Could you fit me in your suitcase? LOL> And John W, I will be with you in spirit at Del Rancho tomorrow morning!!!!!!!! Thanks for all of your replies, it was a lot of fun to read how others spend their reward time. Cheers to all of you, Skidoo

Ok everyone - I have a one month reward coming up and it made me wonder what some of the rewards you all have chosen are? Big ones, little ones, crazy ones, whatever - I want to hear about them!! Anyone want to share??? Looking forward to some good ideas, Skidoo My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 28 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 344 Amount Saved: $154 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 12 Mins: 39 Seconds: 35

Hi Skidoo, I think my most precious rewards cost nothing: The smell of fresh air in my house The smell of clean clothes The taste of food Fresh breath Clean teeth The ability to run some distance without feeling like a heart attack is on its way Having said that somehow I've managed to spend nearly all of my 'money saved' figure ;p Somewhere of this site, there's a really good thread which discusses the phsycology of smoking and rewards, can anybody help? Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,184 Amount Saved: 795 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 16 Mins: 40 Seconds: 14

My 1 week was a haircut. The cut sucked but it still made me feel better. The hair will grow back, it was the act of taking the time out for ME! I am not sure what my 1 month will be but am looking forward to seeing what others say! Actually at my 5-6 week point I am going to Chicago with my son to meet up with a bunch of friends with kids my sons age. We have all known each other since we were preggo with our 2 year olds. So 3 years now! That is a huge reward for me so that will be my 1 month and 6 week all bundled in. We are going to have a blast!@! Hi Skidoo1967 You have to think about something nice that you would like to have or do for yourself that is not something you normally do! I'm shooting for the bedroom set like Martha. Of course, I've been wanting one for the last 14 years, but now that my husband and I don't smoke, I'm getting it!!!!! Congratulations on your upcoming one MONTH!!!! In your case, - maybe a new snowmobile (the name skidoo??!) massages, pedicures, a long nap - anything that brings you pleasure that you don't get to have all the time. Actually I started rewarding myself in my Jubliee year and haven't stopped. The rewards are just sweeter since I don't smoke anymore. Skidoo I was thinking of you. Great to hear from you. Rewards. I reward myself all the time. Rewards can be very small, they don't have to be a big thing or a thing at all. I make sure that I never feel deprived, never let myself feel the want. I carry candy with me so I can instantly cover over that want with something sweet, usually chewy and gooey. I like toffee. I will get the nicer piece of meat or the greener vegetable just so I feel pampered. I will get the nicer pen for work so I feel special and cared for. Always patting myself on the back, taking extra time to come here and post. Thanks for all the attention:). I don't know the science of this and to me it is like the donkey and the carrot except I get to have the carrot whenever I want. Nothing just waved tantilisingly in from of me. I do have a big reward. I am going to go to Venice Italy at Christmas and I have made an agreement with others that are going that if I smoke I have to stay at home.:-( not nice. If I stay smoke free I get to go:-) very nice. The money that I save each week goes into the travel fund. I have saved more that the ticket there. Most of all I keep track of my attitude and I write everyday many things I am grateful for and many things that I am able to acknowledge myself for. This has helped me feel more giving and more giving to myself. Cheers. Congratulations on 28 days! Let us know how you reward yourself for one month, let us know how you reward yourself today. Congrats on your 1 MONTH, that is indeed a major accomplishment. I got a big kick out of rewards that snubbed all the things that went along with smoking. I painted my nails because they no longer turned yellow. I got new perfume because not only could I smell it but it was there at the END of the day! (I also finally found out what my fabric softener smelled like) Getting the car washed and/or detailed which lasts much longer without the ash blowing around. At six months quit I bought new bedroom furniture. Keep adding those days Skidoo and enjoy yourself along the way!
