Members,
It is imperative that we as a community are here to support and give knowledge. As members sign on the site, they will note the User Agreement. Please make sure that this is read and followed at all times.
As moderators we can edit and delete any post or thread that goes against the User Agreement. It is protocol to advise the member that started the thread why we deleted the thread.
As per site regulations, you will not post any personally identifiable information within the Service, including but not limited to email addresses, your real name or any other information that could potentially identify you, another member or any other individual.
Therefore, it is against our policy for users to post MSN IM information, email addresses or any other contact information. If members post this type of information we are liable for breech of newly enacted privacy legislations, and by posting any of this information the entire SSC community is being put at risk.
I want to assure everyone that this not an SSC rule, but is a rule enacted by both Canadian and American congress.
If personal information, links or other sites continue to be posted, each post will constitute a breech of the user agreement and will be deleted immediately with a warning to follow. In regards to passing along personal information through our moderators, it is also not allowed. Even if permission is granted by both parties, we are still liable.
Our goal is to help people quit smoking, and we do not promote other products or services. We feel this is for the safety of the entire site and its' members.
We encourage you to use the SSC IM Messenger for extra support and to connect with other members. Please also be advised of the following;
If a user has inconsistent internet connectivity, the instant messenger will likely fail on them. Each messenger installed on a clients computer polls our central server about once a minute, if there is no internet connectivity while it attempts to do this, the application fails. The instant messenger doesn'tt function on Mac computers, nor on linux machines, nor on Windows 95 machines. Unfortunately, we cannot control everyones program or firewalls.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of these rules an
