Leolibra, It would be awesome if everyone could quit on their first try. From my experience this time has been the easiest so far. I made up my mind, and when I started to have a fit earlier today I just pulled out my yahtzee. It was awesome, I got a yahtzee on my second roll. Unlike the other times, I decided to look for help from others going through the same thing, and reading a lot of the stories helps me out quite a bit. This setting helps me much more too, because I have problems with social gatherings. Stick with it, you know what you have to do, and everyone here is rooting for you. Thx Misty, Princess, and Luna for your kind words. Yes, I am very much aware of how and why I slipped and am more than willing to be responsible for it. Luna, my last quit dissolved after a full two weeks. I mean, I was so proud because I'd actually made it through 'hell' and 'heck' week, then I blew it. Even felt guilty when I took that first puff again. I knew that I shouldn't have surrounded myself with that environment, but I did, thinking I could handle the situation and knowing full well it was way too early in my quit to become a moderator of my future. I was still so very weak in my resolve and was very much so still addicted psychologically to the Nic. Well not this time. I'm sick of what cigs do to me and how they make ME feel. I want MY life back and intend to get it. Thx again for all your support. O, and Luna I kicked Virgo out....he was smoking!! LMAO :P Leolibra N.O.P.E. Thx Falling, Great words of advice and experience. LOL. Yeah, I know what needs to be done this go around. And you're right! Today was my first full day of being smoke-free and it's actually going well. The first time I was really nervous and freaking out. But having failed once, has its advantages I see. 8) Hey be sure to check out my other thread about: My Ex-lover, Nic. :P Leolibra N.O.P.E. HI, Well, it's been a few days ago since I've posted. For those of you who don't know, this is my second attempt at quitting smoking. Only this time, I will make it final. (Read the post: "Oh No I Slipped" in the troubleshooting section if you're confused). Tonight, I will take my last puff. No more buying, no nothing!! This is it! Im a little scared this time as well, but I do have that short lived experience under my belt already so I guess there's not much to fear. I've just been wondering though, for those of you who've slipped before does 'hell' week and 'heck week' become more torturous the second time around or easier because of the previous experience? Either way, Im doing it and I know I'll have much support here from you all. You gave me such inspiration and love before. Only this time I have to keep firm in my mind to say: N.O.P.E. and mean it!! Also I know now that I cannot function around environments of smokers now. I will lose my resolve so much more faster than I did the last time. Well, Im rambling now and so I must go and prepare my ice cubes, sugar-free candies, cinnamon sticks, and gum for the pleasurement of commenting on others posts'. Thx all for the support you've given in the past (although then I was using the name: leopassion --the truck driver remember? sure you do) and the support you will be giving. I'll be in touch again soon!! **O and for all who responded to my previous post....much thx to you for your words of kindness and help. Hi again! I had much the same experience. It was a hard lesson learned that one has to be vigilant about situations that can put you at risk. The initial euphoria was, in my case, not enough to get me through. Bravo for you for realizing your own limitations 'cause you'll know better now. I think a slip can be beneficial in many ways. It sounds like you really LIKED those smoke-free weeks and the power that came from being in control. I know I was not so willing to return to the "smoking" me after having experienced that initial success. Keep moving forward and don't look back! It does get easier. Ciao for now! luna

Hi leolibra, I have to say it's hard to imagine you NOT succeeding with all the enthusiasm you bring to the table. Best of luck, I'm rooting for you! I slipped early in the game (after about three weeks) and found that I returned with even more resolve to get it right the second time. I believe I found the first two weeks a little easier the second round. Live and learn! Best wishes! ps what happened to virgo?
