Dear Mr. Bubble, Where have you been? Why have you not been to 'group' lately (I like to call coming to this site, 'group') I miss seeing your name around - tired of just seeing my name and Red's - come on, give a little? Maria :)

Hi Maria I am doing very well for the moment. Very busy at work, which is amostly solitary pursuit, so I can avoid all kinds of things. Thanks for asking.

Dear Mr. Bubble, I sometimes watch myself pacing around my apartment, checking things, taking a little to myself, peeking out windows, not answering the phone - really, just totally going within myself - and, of course, when I am in stealth mode as I call it, I certainly do not want anypone to see me nor do I want to go anywhere, primarily because I probably had not had a shower for a few days and look like a basket case - However, the good news is, it always ends, the day becomes brighter and the poetry that I write when I am in that mode is so good! How are you doing anyway? Maria

I like the MrBubble name because as I remember the MrBubble from the TV commercials was zippy, happy, and not at all shy...kind of what I am working towards...On the other hand it is a bit of a word play on "the bubble boy", the person I tend to be if I do not push myself. More true not so long ago, who was afraid to go out of the house or "let people in", because I thought I was cracking up. Before I started learning mroe about panic and anxiety I was suree that if other people knew what was happening to me they would think I was a complete nut case.

You are so right. I used to think I was the only one in the whole world who had this. Isolation..and when your parents do not recognise this...sad,sad,sad. and more alone. Only the dog loved me..I was convinced of this. I like that name MrBubble..do you chew bubble gum? Bubble gum is fun..so you must be fun! Or it is Bubble Bath..that is fun too..as long as you are not alone. Red

Confidentiality is pretty much assured if you go to a free email service and create an account under a bogus name. For example, Yahoo doesn't even require that you provide your "real" email address. Makes it pretty hard for people to figure out who you are unless you use real names, addresses, dates and time. Using this strategy, even the site administrator at the Panic Center couldn't track you down. They might be able to tell where the server was that your message came from (e.g. somewhere in the Pacific North West) but that is about it. You may think that your experiences and situation are very different from that of others but people with panic seem to have a lot in common . It is pretty amazing how similar peoples' stories and experiences can be. P.S. my real name isn't MrBubble

A visitor wrote to me and expressed the idea that people may be reluctant to post for fear of having to tell private secrets. There is a way to post, to get help without having to reveal intimate details. For instance: [list] [*]You can list steps you need to break down even more, so people can offer suggestions or ideas [*]You can tell what kind of books help you and that you recommend to others, perhaps telling why you do. [*]You can discuss what kind of services are available in your area, so others might look for them in their own region [*]By changing your Preferences, (see top right of the forum) you assume an alias that protects your privacy.
