Debra,
First of all you are not being a pest at all. This is something new for you, and part of the problem is not understanding what is going on in your body. Or going on with the mind/body connection, that is causing you this horrible feeling at night. It may be easy for someone to say" don't worry", but that remark would have to come from someone who had never experienced this. If and when I say do not worry..it is to teell you that this is something that can be treated and that you are not alone. Some may have these feelings while walking around town, some at night, some while driving. Everyone is different.
I don't know why you are so worried about your boss knowing. I always thought these medical records and dialogues with drs had to be confidential. Oh, maybe I see..you think the boss will see the medical bills and see something having to do with Psych..or psychiatric..or like that.. Well, maybe idf you would explaine that you are having trouble sleeping at night, and you needed to get to a sleep lab for tests, and this is the way you have to go to get there..it may make you not so worried about the reaction you may get.
Please go..you can bill the insurance co. later. That way you won't wory more. that would be one thing not in your consideration.
I think it wsould be prudent to look up on the Internet, Cognitive Behavior Therapy..and read some about it. There are some very good web sites now describing some of your symptoms, if not all. Knowledge is power..and you might want to do some detective work on your own. You can look up Panic Disorder, Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder..they are all out there.
Let us know what you find.
Thanks and hang in there. I hope you feel better soon.
