Crap! Addiction really sucks, doesn't it!?!
I'm not mad at you, Cincere. I'm mad at tobacco companies, I'm mad at our government for allowing them, I'm mad at your husband. My first reaction is to whap him upside his self-centered head. But then he's just another one of us, isn't he?
You've relearned the hard way just how horrid this addiction is, and you've unfortunately carried your family along for the ride. I'm not trying to put a guilt trip on you; just calling it as I see it.
I certainly hope you don't subconciously interpret this trip as some kind of reward. If it was me, I'd not go even if it meant losing the money for the tickets, and I'd consider it penance. But I'm not you and this is a personal decision as I so often argue for.
If depression is an issue, perhaps you should see your doctor. Anti-depressants aren't for everyone, but perhaps in your case they would be in order.
I'm glad you've come back, Cincere. That took guts and shows true strength of character. For that I honor you. When the time comes, we're here for you.
