What i have learnt from this site, that i didn;t know before

I have learnt so many things from here, which I believe will really help me in my quit. 1. The 100 day crash. Maybe this is why I got hooked again at 3 months before. 2. 30 day crash. That one got me just after Christmas this year. 3. To protect my quit and value it, more than a value a cigarette. 4. That i can talk to other people, not just people who are close to me, so that this time, I dont end up smoking again, rather than upset people. (rather be a smoker than a *****) 5. That a lot of my junkie thoughts are just that, junkie thoughts as most people have the same, it empowers me. 6. In a quit, without this, you could get support for a few days, maybe a week, but you wont get support like you get here, and I really need that. Lack of support of how good i was doing, might have helped me to fail last time at 3 months. 7. Stuff about how memories are related to cravings, that makes sense to me, I am going to try to carve out some new more positive memories. 8. That i am not the only person on the planet quitting smoking right now - that it isnt easier to just go back and smoke, as at last then I can feel 'normal' again. When I am here, I do feel normal, as you all understand what i am going through. These are the things that i didnt know before, that will really make a difference to my quit this time. What about you? You are doing great Niks! You are so much more ahead of the game than you think you are. That is my opinion anyways. Keep on keeping your quit. You can do this! This time it is going to stick! Niks, Thanks for sharing this, really helpful for newbies. Also remember that having a reward system is also very important, especially in the first few weeks. Keep persevering, we're all so proud to see you get this far. Danielle _____________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Thanks for this Niks The thing that I have learned here that has helped me the most in my quit is that I am not alone, there are others who walk beside me, others who are in front and others coming along behind. In being accompanied on this journey I can gather strength and wisdom, courage and experience from all the others on the journey and in return give what I have to the others.
