Cheermom,
We are going through the exact same thing! My hubby and I quit together, I remain quit, he isn't. He does not smoke in the house, but it is so true~ the smell follows him. My house has a lingering scent of ashtray........
I walk around the house spraying Fabreeze, everywhere. It does help, to an extent. He knows why I do this, and sometimes it ticks him off, but I will not stop. The stench is gross!! I also make sure I am up-to-date with laundry. Having his smelly clothes in the bedroom really stinks it up. So I do laundry every day.
Just remember, he is an addict. Do not let his addiction build up a wall between you two. It is hard, but if you pressure him, or make him feel bad, he will only back away. Remember how you felt when you smoked, and you had a non smoker tell you about your smoking habit. It made me mad, and I smoked even more! As if I was proving something.....
Keep your positives loud and clear! He IS looking at you, and your quit. Just be there for him, he may eventually come around again.
