What is your biggest benefit from quitting?

What is the biggest benefit to not smoking? I can't think of just one. Every aspect of my life is better now that I don't smoke. I have energy. I smell great. Everything around me is clean and smells wonderful. I have more money. I do more things with my family and for myself now. I can exercise like there is no tomorrow and my body is loving it. I do not have to sit in a designated area and kill myself slowly. I can not even begin to list all the benefits ... there are just too darn many. Riverdale man. The biggest benefit is that I don't have to figure out a place to hide and smoke and i smell better. My head isn't as congested. This past weekend I was a team captain for our Relay for Life and it was so good not to sneak off to smoke and I walked all night without any problems. Good question Phillip. My biggest benefits from quitting are not having to be a closet smoker at work/public anymore and not worrying when I was down to my last one or two cigarettes and finding the time to go to the store to buy more. Not having to time everything so that I can have my cigarette before I do something. This is great when on vacation, going to a show or theater, or just visiting friends. I still think about having one or allowing time for one, but it is now just a passing thought, not a strong urge. WOW What amazing responses. Keep it going, I for one really want to know because I think we all benefit from seeing and witnessing what the benefits outside ourselves are. What is the biggest benefit you have got from quitting? I know for me the biggest thing is that I can do physical activity. Lots of stuff that I would not have been able to do before February 17th. I can actually keep up with others doing all kinds of physical stuff and not feel winded or down right flaked out. Share let all the rest of us know what you are getting from being quit. My whole life has changed RM and thanks for asking! I am able to live in and enjoy the here and now because I no longer have to worry about when and where I will be able to have my next smoke. I feel at peace with myself, as if for the 1st time in years.........I am choosing to do things not being dictated to by this inner self-destructive force, the force that rearranged every waking moment to suit his self gratifying need. Amen Cheers, Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 163 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,451 Amount Saved: $652 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 8 Mins: 58 Seconds: 49

I love the time I have not having to stop and buy cigarettes, not having to find the time to smoke. I love all my new free time. I love knowing that I will not offend any one because I smell like smoke. I think that is the best part.
