First Day

Wow, this is hard and it's only my first day, I have this terrible taste in my mouth probably from not opening it to smoke today. Ha Ha. I have a frog in my throat and can't seem to get it out. I don't feel very social and that is not like me, I know I'm always friendly and today I really don't want any friends I feel like going to bed and getting under the covers and staying there until this is over. I wish I was an ostridge. I know I can do this, and have been reading all the discussion and most of them made me smile. It is now 6:34pm Eastern time as I am in Nova Scotia Canada, I am nearing the end of my workday only an hour left. I can go home and get under my blankets and pretend I'm an ostridge with an attitude. By the way I have been heavy smoking for 39 years. I hope to come in to work tomorrow morning and have some encouraging e-mails to read, I'll really need them because this is something I really want to do. I want to see my 3 grandchildreen grow up and get married. See you tomorrow my friends. :p

Hi Beb, I love the ostrich comments. ;p heh! Go home and get some sleep. While you are going through your physical withdrawals, do whatever you need to do to get through them. Do not give into the cravings. Know that the physical withdrawals will pass. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Promise. Just keep going. You can do it. You are too funny! I know this first period is rough, I remember, but it does get better! Day by day the bad feelings get less, day goes by faster, being in public gets easier...it really does. Hi Beb! Congratulations for a GREAT decision and for 1 BIG FAT SMOKE FREE DAY! Yes, its hard in the beginning, but it gets easier, and the rewards of quitting are WONDERFUL! Weve had members spend LOTS of time hiding under the covers, moaning, groaning, etc. What did all that effort get them? Freedom! Hang in there. Heres wishing you a great day 2. Not cravin', never cavin'.
