This is a great thread - I'm glad you bumped it because I was just now thinking of some of my "being chained to a smoke" memories.
Of course, I was a very very very heavy smoker so I know i have some that others don't. LOL..
I used to lay in bed, have my last cigarette, and then try to force myself to fall asleep within 10-15 minutes. if 15 minutes went by and I wasn't asleep yet, i had to light up again.
At the end, in the few months prior to quitting.. one of the reasons I even thought about quitting was that I was lighting up in my sleep and waking up because my leg was burning, and the cig had gone all the way through the sheet and matress pad. UHM SCAREY!
I used to light up going into the store, and imediately when I walked out, and was usually feeling withdrawls before I got out of the store. Always smoked in the car, on the toilet, after eating, and while at the computer. There wasn't anywhere that I didn't smoke - I had to.. all the time.
Glad to be free of that!
