English is actually my second language and over this past hell week my first language has come back to me at various times. In fact, just yesterday, I was in a corner fondling a shiny object and I spoke the words, "goo goo gaa gaa blurpppppp eek". How long it has been since last I uttered THAT phrase! It was like I was 14 months old, all over again, speaking my first language.

I am on day 9 and have not gotten past the spacey no concentration walking in circles mumbling incoherently to myself stage yet, so memory improvement sounds quite wonderful...
What were we talking about again??????

I'm remembering all the time when I was around 15 years old and not a smoker yet. 25-30 years ago. I'm feeling okay with this.

I have done a bit more research and something I had not realised is that smokers are more likely to get Alzheimers/dementure.
My father in law has it and I can assure you he has no dignity or self respect and takes an awful lot of care from his family and the Health Service.I promise you he would not know if he smokes or not!!
If anyone wants putting off smoking do some research om it
Its awful!

I have never seen any reference to this on the site but no doubt you will correct me.
Since my relatively recent quit I am starting to remember things from my schooldays(40 plus years ago) and odd snippets of history, geography, news etc that I had long forgotten.
Can't believe its a coincidence
Any thoughts?
Phil
