Don€™t worry about other people, and they probably aren€™t looking at you, you might just think they are. And maybe they are wondering if they should take their pulse more often. Anyone who is really into exercise regularly checks their pulse, you are supposed to make sure you are in the right range or see what range you are in. Because some days you might want to work at a lower rate for longer and other days at a higher rate for a shorter amount of time. And you have to check your pulse to see where you are at. It€™s all part of maximizing your workout. So I wouldn€™t€™ worry about it. But I think you need a longer cool down so your pulse is a lot lower at the end of your workout. I have to do that when I have to drive home from the gym myself or I will more than likely have an attack because my heart rate is too high.

hello there guys, thanks for replyin. i do take my pulse every 5-10 min. its like going 90-100. it takes time to really slow down. how come other people dont feel this? i have become a pulse conscious person and i feel like people at looking at me funny cause i always check my pulse afterwards.

I don€™t know if your exercise routine is more cardio based or what you do, but you might want to extend your cool down time so that your heart rate isn€™t as high when you get off a machine or whatever you are doing.

Hi Rst. Your pulse is expected to increase with a cardio workout and it's normal to feel it in the cooling down period if you're watching for it. Your heart's ability to beat slower afterwards is a reinforcement that contrary to having an attack, your heart has just been strengthened and is adapting to the reduced demand on it. Do you take your pulse after five minutes and ten minutes?

everytime i get into my exercise mode i feel really good gettin sweatin out. my problem is the cooling down stage where you feel your rapid pulse while resting. enter the fear of havin a heart attack...i just cant seem to relax after. tried talking to myself, deep breathing etc, but the fear is still there. how can i get over this???
