Why you should never give up, giving up, and how stupid smoking is

for 18 år siden 0 1450 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Niks, Please continue to come here and lean on this support group whenever you feel the need. We understand because at some point weve all put smoking ahead of everything else. (From digging in the trash for butts to smoking in the car with our childrenand worse.) But that was yesterday. Today I encourage you to try and not relive yesterday for good or ill, it is forever gone. Let us stand with you across the miles and feel our strength in great numbers. People from all over the world will be praying for you. You must also remember to not be too fearful, for most of the things we fear never come to pass. You seem like a gentle soul and I am sure God has a plan for you-so keep the faith. You are no longer smoking and you must continue to reward yourself (especially now) and celebrate each current smoke free day. Together we will face each problem as it comes knowing we can only handle one problem at a time anyway. Members, let us ALL count our blessings today, never over looking the small ones, for a lot of small blessings add up to a big one. Niks, your message is powerful and it is posted in the exact right place at the exact right time to be heard by many. You will likely help another learn from your experiences more than you will ever know. So keep posting. It's good for you and it's good for us. *hugz* Be strong. I know it Niks. I wouldnt have listened when I was a teenager either. I hope my son will learn from my example even though it came later in life. I was in my 30s by the time I realized cigarettes had wrapped themselves around me like a boa constrictor, slowly choking the life out of me but doing it so slowly I thought I was simply warm and secure. I would reach my 40s before I finally opened me eyes and realized what was happening. The consequences of smoking are REAL. We can block it out but we cant make it go away. Nevertheless, quitting smoking can go a long way towards correcting the damage. It took me some time to realize that ultimately the decision to stop and never smoke again comes from how I feel about myself. I have often said that there is nothing better we can do for ourselves (and those that love and depend on us) than to prove and establish our own self-respect by ending our self-imposed prison term with cigarettes. You must take great pride in realizing once and for all I GET IT! I SEE THE TRUTH OF CIGARETTES FOR WHAT THEY ARE! Now, it is your turn to shine the light for others who are still in the dark, when you feel compelled to do so. But first and foremost, we are here for you. Let us know what you find out. We really do care. niks, Stay strong!!! Oftentimes, we get hit with things that we don't think we can handle, but the truth is that we are all stronger than we think we are. I'm sure that's definitely true for you too! It might be hard, but you CAN keep your quit, despite what ever happens tomorrow or down the road. Keep going... for your children and for yourself. Don't beat yourself up for smoking... we all did it and no, it wasn't the smartest thing we could have done, but beating ourselves up about it now isn't going to make the past disappear. Nothing can be done to change it now. Just concentrate on the present and right now, you're doing the absolute best thing you can for yourself by quitting. I will keep you in my prayers. Crave the Quit! I'm not here so often anymore. I missed this in June. I am glad it was brought forward again. Unbelievable our levels of denial and how a harsh dose of reality puts what is important into clear perspective. Thank you for sharing.
