Stormy- From what I've read what you are feeling is normal. Most people have that feeling at around 30 days and 100 days. Just accept it as that little devil dying and doing anything it can to be fed to stay alive. Whatever you do, don't do it. N.O.P.E. don't do it! Kill it, let it starve! Go back to the basics. Breath deeply, exercise hard to force yourself to breath deep if necessary. Oral satisfaction doesn't seem to be helping right now, but protect your quit with all you have. I know you can do it, I know you are stronger than it is. Stormy, Have you rewarded youself lately. I think we get caught back up in life and forget about that. Even at 70 days(which btw is awsome)you still need a little time for yourself. Maybe instead of keeping so busy you need to take five, just for you. This past week I thought I was gonna lose my quit. It had everything to do with being to busy, and not rewarding myself. Don't Care.... That is junkie thinking.....What is it exactly you don't care about? Can you honestly say you don't care about all the crap smoking causes? Lung cancer, chest pains, gagging in the morning, not being able to catch breath. You may feel like you don't care, but that is not true. You may wish you did not care,it would be easier to drug yourself than to cope w/ feelings. You do care, that is why you quit in first place. We care too. Hi Stormy! Perhaps it is time to seek your doc for help this way it will not jepoardize your hard work. Have you tried journaling your actions and reactions to certain situations? HUGZ Stormy!! I am sorry you are having such a hard time. I cannot take Wellbutrin at all so my doc gave me atavan to help me calm down. I am on the smallest dose possible and I only take it when I end up in OCD mode. This is insane! I am this far into my quit, so why isn't it getting easier? I don't know how much more of this anger and attitude I can take. I have concerns that my quit is in jeopardy and at this point I don't know what else to do. I am tired chewing the gum, tired pacing the floor, tired keeping busy in order to try to keep my mind off it. I can't shake this attitude and to be honest, it's starting to worry me. This is NOT me. I feel so irritated and the least little thing sets me off. In describing my frame of mind, it's like, I simply "Don't care". A part of me simply refuses to let go and I don't know why. It's just another day of struggle. Does it ever end? Duckie, My body doesn't react well with anti-anxiety meds if that is what you mean and yes, I write down what I am feeling most days but that's about as far as it gets.

Stormy, I know how you're feeling. I have been so sick and tired of feeling angry, down, frustrated, irritated, etc., etc., etc. at times during my quit that more than once I was willing to just say "enough is enough." And, the gum? Some days I am so sick and tired of chewing the vile stuff I have spit it out nearly as quickly as I popped it in. But, then I asked myself how did I get into this mess in the first place? By being a fool and thinking that inhaling 4,000 chemicals for years and years and years hadn't affected me one bit. The way I figure it, anything this awful can't possibly be advantageous. If smoking was so doggone good for me, I wouldn't be having such a h*ll of a time, getting it out of my life. I don't know if this will help you, but it may give you some food for thought. Check in and let us know how you're doing. You've got plenty of others pulling for you. You can do it... Stormy, Free and Rusty gave you the best advise of all, this is underlying anger I think (not a therapist) and a few sessions would help you . Good luck :)marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 108 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,626 Amount Saved: $432 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 7 Mins: 16 Seconds: 24

I remember feeling almost exactly as you describe at almost the same time during my last quit. It was at about that point that I broke. Please don't smoke. You will find yourself back at square one, like I did. Let's sit down and figure out what is REALLY bothering you...? Perhaps the EAP Rusty suggested or some other counselor. Let us know...we care! (((hugs))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 21 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,085 Amount Saved: $168 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 5 Mins: 38 Seconds: 29

I don't think smoking or not smoking is causing this. Sign up for group anger management classes. My husband quit the same time I did and experienced what you are. He joined an anger management class. It is really helping him.
