I woke up this morning to find my 16 year old not in his bed. Talk about stressed. My husband and I had to do his paper route. LOL Seriously now. He left me a voice mail message that he loved me and he is somewhere safe and will be home in a few days. Ends up he and his dad had words after I went to bed last night and the to tell you the truth the kid has had a bad last month - breaking up with a girlfriend due to her parents telling her she could not see him anymore. They do not want her to date or so they decided after they had been seeing each other for 5 months they had to cut it off). He finally called after I got to work this morning and was 250 miles away at my girlfriend's home. He had driven all the way during the night not really knowing the route or how to get there. So he is safe and that is what matters. However needless to say I was really upset. I just thought he was at a friends house in town. When I thought about all the trouble that could of happened I lost it. And what was my first thought. Ya your right "I need a cigarette", but you know I didn't or that was what I kept telling myself until I believed it. These are the reasons why I smoked but I am trying retrain myself to understand that I do not need a cigarette to get through these trying times.
I have called our EAP at work to get me into talk to counselor. So I can get some help on how to deal with this situation.
Just keeping my head above water here in the hot and humid Midwest.

I was kind of wishing that my son would go away.. think your son would want a traveling buddy? :eg:
I'm kidding... You handled this really well.
Broomsdrew,
You did excellent! Even in that very stressful situation you talked yourself out of smoking! Great Job and glad everything is ok with your son.~Valic
