Leolibra,
It is an awsome feeling and sensation. Try baking something, like cookies or a good bread. Yum. I still have not gotten over how wonderful it all smells. Yeah so what I have gained 9pds. It will be okay. I think I am going to stop and smell flowers from now on.lol ;p

that is the best part your mouth tasting better and the smell, I love smelling my hair and my body. Whenever some one gets next to me that has had a cig (oh my gosh they smell bad) I take my arm or my hair and smell it. (sick but works.
Pork chops yum that is what I am having tonight.
keep up the good work and I like that you are finding positive things about your quit then going all negative on us.

Leolibra,
Sounds like we have something in common... I am returning to school soon too.. After a break of 10 years.. I have already decided that I am going to walk to school every morning and walk home on the nights that I don't have class up till 6pm.. It's about 2 miles there and 2 miles back.. I am also going to use the university gym (it's free to students) cause I could do with losing a bit of this weight.
I managed to get rid of that horrible taste in my mouth quite early on in the quit(about day 5 I think) and I haven't looked back.. Food that I had gone off tastes fantastic...
And the smells, never mind perfume one of my neighbours has a hedge growing in front of their house. It was in bloom the other day and I walked past and got a blast of the loveliest smell ever...
Yep, you're right Sterk. :) No need in getting all negative because that won't solve anything. Besides if I'm gonna get ill and negative--no point in being quit. Smoking had me behaving like that. :( But now that I'm smoke-free I'm looking on the brighter side of life. No more down and depressing thoughts. Besides, anything worth having is challenging and in order to have something I've never had before, I have to do something I've never done before. Amethyst congrats on your return to college. And yeah, it does feel good to smell something pleasant for a change!! :) Thx all for the support.

LOL>>>>Marie. You're right. I used to often wonder about the perfume smell. I would put it on and then smoke a cig. Later I'd would be spraying more because I couldnt smell it, but my family would say we smell it but it smells like smoke! LOL Saved you some of the food as well. :)
Grace thx for support. I did bake something. I made a strawberry cake with the icing to match and some ice cream as an early reward for trying my quit again and for having much more strength and determination this go around. :) It smelt so goooooood! And Im not worried about the weight gain.......I'm already in need of weight loss so a few extra is worth it this time. But I'm actually losing because now I've gone back to college...wow after 8 years!!! Keeps me busy with studying for my degree and smoke-free!! YEA

Only 2hrs and 45 min. to go before I begin day #4!! So far so good. Few rough spots but not enough to really notice....except for that first day. So far, I've noticed my sense of smell returning every so slightly and now I have no sour mouth anymore!!! :D
Wow...imagine the joy upon my face when I awakened this morn and suddenly realized....hey! no sour breath today!! Usually I have this sour taste that I can never get rid of, from smoking I presume. It stays with me all day and evening. It goes away when eating, but then returns later. And in the mornings--WHEW terrible breath! But this morn I happened to realize as I was preparing to brush that I didnt have that taste in my mouth. I was like 'wow' almost felt like not brushing. :D Thats how good it felt. AND....when I was out today I kept getting fascinated with how good I smelt. NO MORE ASHTRAY YEA!!
I know people thought I was crazy but I didn't care...I just kept on sniffing my shirt and smelling myself...I could actually smell my perfume and not the smoky scent. Truly I am impressed with the body's healing capabilities. And when I cooked dinner tonight: Fried pork chops, home made mac and cheese with string beans with diced onions....O MY GOODNESS....I really should have 'slapped somebody' just because the food smelt so dang good. LOL. I cant wait to see what happens next to my body!!

Leolibra your post is making me hungry, that food sounds so goooood, I want some.....Well congrats on your achievement and isn't it wonderful to smell nice again. I say why pay for perfume if you hide it with stale smoke. Many more things coming up to keep you happy about your quit. Keep on fighting the good fight one day at a time :)Marie
