Hey BGH, What is it about this quit are you finding so difficult? is it that you feel you want to smoke or need to smoke. Meaning is it an actually physical want or a mental want? I hate that you are feeling this way as you have 42 days under you belt which is so impressive and you should be so proud. I just cant get out of my head how much i dispise smoking in every facet, have you been up close to a smoker and smelt that disgusting metalic smell they reek of, the yellowing nicotine stained fingers, the wrinkles around their mouth when they take a drag, their constant cough, the congestion, the red eyes, the CONSTANT desire to quit, are they just waiting to die? I was depressed for 14 years and im done! Time to be me, through ALL the rough times i WILL never put one to my mouth ever. That cigarette was never your or my friend and will never do for you what you can do for yourself. Make this quit easy, tell that "junkie" to take a hike - its your time to shine. PrincessC :) x

Bgaineshunter, you know you can't slip cause then it's back to day one and no one wants that. Your craves are hard on you, have you tried to analyse why, what triggers them, what can you change to make it better. Are you constantly seeing yourself as a smoker? I used to think oh my I'll never smoke again and it drove me nuts. Now I think only today I will not smoke and if a thought tries to enter my mind I dismiss it and think of positive things, how good I feel, I don't stink anymore, I am healthier and richer. Take it a day at a time, think today I choose not to smoke. Kandlwoman, Rewards are very important. They reinforce your new behavior and give you something to work towards. Here are a few favorites... small: chocolate bar, cab to work, sleeping in for an extra 20 minutes, extra 1/2 hour in the tub, renting a movie medium: ordering in, night out, have maid service come in, new shoes large: trip, weekend getaway, shopping spree, throwing a party, dance class Hope this gives you some ideas. Be kind to yourself and do anything that may make you feel better. Congratulations on 3 weeks! We are really proud of you! Hang in there, it does get better.
