Hey Pen, you're so right!!! (((Rachel))) kudos to you, my friend!! It's a beautiful day today, isn't it? The sun is shining and the weather is changing... Here's to the ease at which a Quit CAN be :) Love and blessings! If you read Healer's post again I think you understand that she is NOT saying we should ignore the "Old Quitters". What she is saying is that "Her focus is on the New Quitters". Pen... You are so right. I can not imagine how people who are clinically depressed find the strength to quit. I know that for me the normal depression that came with my quit in the early days was enough! I guess that just proves that anyone who wants to quit badly enough CAN do it. Princess, it's one thing to say that the rough patches of quitting smooth out over time, which they do, and quite another to say quitting is easy. You are right -- the memories do fade and that is something that all new quitters can look forward to, if they just don't smoke. I was in a convenience store today and I looked around at all the cigarette packs and ads all over the place. I had no more desire for a pack of smokes than I did for a camo hat or a hunting magazine. lol I love that feeling and everyone who never again lights up will get there.
I have to pull back and say to myself that 6 months is nothing compared to the 30 years I screwed with my system....and give myself a break. I need to be more patient.
On the contrary Rob .... 6 months is everything in the quitting world.....[regardless of how long you smoked]. You are quite right about the site being balanced. There are people here of all ages. They all smoked for different periods of time, are at different points in their quit and used different methods in their quit. That's what makes the site work so well. Rachel Two years, six months, one week, six days, 21 hours, 58 minutes and 55 seconds. 18518 cigarettes not smoked, saving 4,166.43. Life saved: 9 weeks, 1 day, 7 hours, 10 minutes.
