Hi, it is I.
Have you begun to get your ducks in order? Consider cutting back on the smoking, one or two each day until you get it down to a number that you feel you are ready to take the plunge.
Work on cutting back on those smokes that you don't really crave for at the moment, but you smoke because it is that time of the day when you usually light up. For instance, I would light up at 9 am outside at work because it was time to go have a smoke. Sometime I didn't really want one but went and had one anyway. You should be able to find some of those unnecessary smokes for yourself. After working on these begin to deny yourself, that cigarette that you have while picking up the telephone, or after a meal.
Look to establish a quit date for you as many on this site wisely do. Pick a date when things look to be calm on the home and work front, not when you are going to be under an unusually amount of stress. Get your bag of triggers fighter ready and place them in your toolbox: walking, small weight lifting, hiking, water for the car rather than a smoke, gum, carrots, celery.... Use the patch or other similar withdrawal reducing agents.
