Something I've noticed in relation to memory is that now, if I smell an unlit cigarette, it brings me right back to when I was 17 years old just starting to smoke. For some reason, that smell is very strongly tied to when I first started smoking. When I was smoking and smelled an unlit cigarette, it didn't do the same thing for me (perhaps because your sense of smell gets much better after you quit). But as for remembering other subjects, I haven't noticed that, but that's a very interesting observation!
