Auctionman ... remember the convo we had on the ssc messenger. I'll sign on a bit later and we can chat it up. Hang on. Smoking is not going to solve anything. In fact it will probably cover a lot up. Sweeping issues under the carpet is never a good idea. And just like quitting is not done in a day ... working on marriage problems don't get fixed in a day either. Be patient. Change takes time. Remember to be loving, even when you are mad ... to yourself and to your spouse. Auctionman, Sometimes that's all you can focus on, getting through the next hour. Hang in there, keep your coping mechanisms & distractions at the ready today. Your doctor would be able to refer you to a marriage counselor should you feel the need. Congratulations on staying smoke free! We are proud of you! Keep persevering, Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

The junkie really is speaking directly to you. Nothing absolutely nothing with change in you marital situation if you smoke. If you smoke you will only be more able to feel badly about yourself. I imagine you are feeling badly enough right now. What can you do to be the central force for you self. Smoking can not provide the power and strength that you need to be the driver. Take some deep breaths. Flex your quitting muscles and realize that your body, your mind and your spirit will drive you through, NOT a haze and cough of putrid smoke. Find all the strength that you can muster and you can ride this all through. Keep posting here and keep finding your own strength. Get back to those five powerful reasons that you quit! Stay Strong - Stay Quit Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 197 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,948 Amount Saved: $1477.5 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 4 Mins: 4 Seconds: 49

Look at it this way. There isn't a whole lot you can control in this life... but smoking is one thing you can control and you can feel good that YOU are doing something GOOD for YOU! DO GOOD FOR YOU AND YOU'LL FEEL BETTER, STEP BY STEP! YOU can do this!!! Auctionman You've gotten some great advice from all the members here. This group is awesome and can pull you through anything. Trust me I know. I consider this quit to be something like a journey of the road less traveled. Keep taking one step at a time, one day at a time. When you feel you can't go on, take just one more step. Minute by minute we get there. Quitting was very difficult for me and I really never thought I would make it. Leaned on the support of the wonderful people here, remembered to post BEFORE smoking, and keep moving along. Don't think of your quit in terms of forever. That is way too much for anyone to comprehend at this stage of the quit. Five minutes at a time was about all I could bare in the early days. But I am as living proof that those minutes turn into hours, hours turn into days, days turn into weeks, weeks into months, months into years.... Get the picture? It sounds like you are doing great to me! Congratulations on completing Hell week. The worst week of any quit and now it is behind you. Be proud of yourself and celebrate. Focus on your quit and not your marriage. Quitting will change your world in ways you never imagined. You will be amazed at how everything just falls into place as long as you keep using N.O.P.E. (not one puff ever) as your guide. Keep going. auctionman, This is what quitting is all about. Life keeps throwing us situations to get through without smoking. We prepare but when the time actually comes, sometimes it can feel overwhelming and we forget. You've taken the time to post. I'll take that as a sign that you really don't want to blow your 6 days...but that you're just doubting yourself. There is no perfect time to quit. You can do this. We have. There's no reason you can't too. Don't forget to take some unwind time and to be kind to yourself. Pull your act together and move through this. The first time is the toughest but it gets easier with time. You've done an awesome job so far... Hang tight! One more day... Hell week will be over :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 577 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 11,548 Amount Saved: $2059.89 Life Gained: Days: 61 Hrs: 3 Mins: 22 Seconds: 23

Life sucks because you are withdrawing from the most addictive substance on earth. You CAN do this. Many people have been able to quit in really awful circumstances. Nicotine is a drug that will kill you. The junkie is speaking directly into your brain, giving you doubts. Don't let the drug control you. Stop being a drug addict. There will never be a better time to quit than now because you are already 6 days into it. What if the next cigarette would be the one to give you lung cancer? Auctionman, you can do this. Stay right here and let us help you.
