I was wondering where you went the last couple days. Just to let you know I am always home if you need someone to talk with. Hit me on I.M. I may not always show on line but I am. Had a couple rough days myself so I can understand what you are going through. Hold on and do your best..... I still consider myself new at this and you said to ignore you. I can't because you are reality for me. I am married to and most of the time our relationship is great but like all there are the rough times. We had a big, large fight on Christmas day of all days and I really questioned if quitting was worth it. I thought I really needed one, or a pack, or a carton. Whatever I could get. You have really inspired me that I am not alone in the thoughts and that people on here really do care. I don't really "know" anyone on here but my goodness the support I read for you inspired me to hang in there no matter what. Smoker or not (I prefer not) there will be problems in life and tragidies, but we gotta work through them so why not work through them healthy? Thank you for your insperation. Windy, When I first started at SSC, my first couple of weeks quit, there were a few people who went back to smoking, and as you put it....I was skeered..it freaks you out a little...but what I liked about the SSC was how everyone rallied to support you wether you were weak or strong. We share each other's victories and the time's that we struggle, and we learn a great deal from these by sharing with each other. It's how we grow, learn and get stronger. That's all I need to know to keep moving on, one day at a time. We are all very serious about our quits....but we are fighting an addiction and we have to stick together and support each other through the good and the bad. We learn so much from watching each other. I guess it's all in how we look at things. Oh Cheermom!! When we started this process of quitting, we truley had no idea how it was going to change our lives. I think that's why so many quits fail...we truley don't understand what's happening to us as we are going through it. We feel like we are loosing our minds and we just can't get past it. You have a fantastic quit going...over six months and lot's of stressors...I'm sooooooooo proud of you for picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and continueing on as a non-smoker. You have been through too much and fought to hard not to continue on. I wouldn't reset your quit meter. That would mean that all your hard work for the past 6 months was for nothing nd you learned nothing....I don't believe that. I believe that it's because of how hard you fought for your quit that you did not succomb completely to the addiction again. You made a choice and smoked, but you did not become a smoker again. Hold on to the strength that allowed you to share with the SSC....you will be able to help so many other's with what you have learned over the past 24 hours. Many HUGS!!!!! Proud of you. As you know even from my 11 year quit, I'm stuck back at day one. For years I didn't even think about smoking, sat around smokers and wasn't even tempted. Our psychy (sp?) has been wired to nicoderm and even though we can by-pass that connection. It's there like an old hand granade waiting to pounce when life throws a curve ball. At this point I think that humility and honesty are the best answers and keeping at the forefront of my mind that nicoderm is fierce and I am only human. To give him an inch is to make him the ruler. Proud of you.
